Freelance Role - Workday Consultant (Adaptive) - 6 month Contract - Remote - English
We are looking for a Workday Adaptive Planning Functional Consultant to support the relaunch of a strategic finance and workforce planning project. The programme is moving away from Excel-based cost planning towards Workday Adaptive Planning, with a targeted go-live in September.
The consultant will act as the functional expert for Adaptive Planning, with a strong understanding of how Adaptive integrates with Workday HCM and payroll data.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the functional expert for Workday Adaptive Planning during redesign and implementation.
- Support the transition from Excel-based personnel cost planning to Adaptive Planning.
- Lead functional design activities and contribute to a clean, scalable target solution.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into Adaptive Planning functionality.
- Advise on integrations and interfaces between Workday HCM, payroll data, and Adaptive Planning (functional understanding required, not hands-on integration build).
- Support data flows related to headcount, personnel costs, and workforce planning.
- Provide best-practice guidance on Adaptive Planning capabilities and design.
- Collaborate with internal product specialists and technical teams.
Required Experience
- Strong experience as a Workday Functional Consultant, with recent hands-on exposure to Workday Adaptive Planning.
- Solid understanding of how Adaptive integrates with Workday HCM and payroll-related data.
- Experience working on design and implementation phases of Adaptive Planning projects.
- Ability to operate at a functional level while understanding technical integration concepts.
- Comfortable working in complex environments with high stakeholder interaction.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of a critical workstream.
