Are you an experienced performance marketer and growth leader with 10+ years of mobile app or gaming experience? If so, we want to meet you!

About Pok Pok

Pok Pok is on a mission to raise the next generation of creative thinkers.

We’re the team behind the Apple Design Award-winning Montessori app, Pok Pok, and were named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2025. Our award-winning digital toys and videos empower children to think outside the box, dream big, and explore their creativity in a mindful way. We believe screen time can be thoughtful, educational, and just as imaginative as the toys we grew up playing with on the floors of our living rooms.

Pok Pok is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion. We encourage people of all races, religions, genders, abilities and sexual orientations to apply. We want the products we develop to reflect the diversity of the world we live in, and it starts with our own team.

About the Role

As our new VP Growth & Performance Marketing, you will own Pok Pok’s growth engine end-to-end. From user acquisition through conversion, retention and monetization, you will work closely with our leadership team and all departments to grow revenue at Pok Pok.

We’re looking for someone who’s scaled consumer apps or games far beyond 0–1. You are a strategic thinker with deep empathy for parents and real, hands-on experience. If you care about solving complex growth challenges, making strategic bets and are a master of paid user acquisition, keep reading!

You’ll work directly with our CEO and leadership team to design and implement systems that support sustainable growth, operational clarity, and yield high team performance. This role demands someone who can responsibly scale acquisition and shape pricing and positioning, with a true understanding of the families we serve.

We will prioritize hybrid, Toronto-based candidates for this role, but will also consider remote or international applicants. If you are living in Canada you must be legally allowed to work in Canada.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the growth strategy across AARRR (acquisition, activation, retention and monetization)
  • Own the entire funnel, overseeing a high-performing user acquisition team across all paid channels, with a special focus on Meta.
  • Own day-to-day acquisition performance, leading a team to manage campaigns, budgets and creatives to respond quickly to changes in CPI, ROAS, retention and LTV.
  • Be accountable for UA attribution, maintaining a clear, trusted view of performance across paid channels and platforms.
  • Oversee creative ad strategies to turn performance data into clear, actionable creative direction while owning what to test next, identifying resonant hooks, formats, and narratives and scaling what works.
  • Partner deeply with Monetization to shape the app’s onboarding, paywall, pricing and retention tools through a growth lens.
  • Oversee App Store Optimization (ASO) to optimize for top-of-funnel conversion.
  • Oversee all paid marketing experimentation and analytics, translating crucial data into clear insights and decisions for the leadership team and board.
  • Drive fast learning, prioritizing clarity and quality over sheer volume.
  • Help us ask better questions about growth, not just chase industry playbooks.
  • Make independent decisions with imperfect information, prioritizing progress over perfection.
  • Know when to test, scale and stop based on data, judgment or consensus as appropriate.
  • Coach, mentor and develop junior team members to improve skills, decision-making and execution quality.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to continuously cross-polinate best practices and learnings across product, design and brand.

You Are

  • An experienced growth and performance marketing leader with 10+ years in growth roles, ideally in consumer subscription apps or games.
  • Experienced and confident managing 7 figure+ monthly UA budgets.
  • Proven experience owning multi-channel growth at scale beyond product-market fit.
  • An expert at designing and scaling W2W flows.
  • A doer in the truest sense of the word. You think, decide, act and improve every day.
  • Someone who moves fast and takes risks, but is not reckless.
  • Highly organized, proactive and calm under pressure—you’re an optimist who brings positivity and solutions to the table, even when things are challenging.
  • Relentless initiative that lets you thrive working independently and see steps ahead at all times.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication. You communicate well with ease and know how to be direct and kind at the same time.

This role is not for someone who:

  • Waits for perfect briefs, hides behind dashboards or manages from a distance.
  • Wants a meeting-heavy role focused on discussion over action.

Bonus points if you’ve worked in:

  • Start-ups
  • Kids, education or consumer products where parents/moms are the customer
  • Mission-driven consumer brands

More About Us

Some awesome things about this role:

  • You’ll have the unique opportunity to build, grow and make your mark joining a fast-growing start-up early on.
  • The option to work from our beautiful brick-and-beam office in the downtown core within walking distance to the Eaton Centre, St. Lawrence Market and Union Station.
  • Enjoy flexible working hours and arrangements, including working from home.
  • We offer 5 weeks of paid vacation, because life outside of work matters!
  • Competitive compensation including employee stock options and health benefits
  • We love field trips and like to go playtest with kids in our community, go on fact-finding trips for toy research, and learn about cool stuff at science centres, museums and toy stores. We have no fun at all.
