About Dronazon
Dronazon is a scheduled carrier preparing to launch the Caribbean's first autonomous cargo network. We operate fixed-wing cargo aircraft and autonomous surface vessels on scheduled island-to-island routes, built from day one as a dual-use commercial and defense logistics platform. We are a carrier company.
Our competitive advantage is structural: civilian-first certification, a combined air-and-sea network, and unit economics that make scheduled autonomous cargo viable at scale where traditional regional aviation cannot compete.
We are not a startup still figuring out the market. We know exactly where we are going. We need the person who has done it before to help us get there.
The Role
This is a ground-floor launch role. You will build and activate Dronazon's Caribbean cargo network from origin points and jurisdiction agreements through first revenue flights. That means landing the commercial relationships, working the regulatory environment across multiple island jurisdictions, structuring take-or-pay contracts with shippers and handlers, and establishing the operational infrastructure needed to run a scheduled carrier in a multi-jurisdiction, multi-island theater.
You will report directly to the COO and work alongside the VP of Flight Operations. You own the commercial and network side; Flight Ops owns the certificate and aircraft side. You are expected to operate independently in-theater.
What You Will Do
- Identify, prioritize, and close the initial route corridors that anchor the Phase 1 network
- Secure jurisdiction-level agreements and regulatory approvals required to operate scheduled cargo service across target island markets
- Build and manage shipper relationships, freight forwarding partnerships, and handler agreements at origination and destination points
- Negotiate and close take-or-pay cargo contracts that provide the revenue foundation for fleet deployment
- Structure ground handling and ramp operations in markets where third-party handler options are limited or nonexistent
- Develop the commercial operating model: pricing, capacity allocation, SLA structure, and OTP accountability frameworks
- Work directly with the COO and CFO on route economics, contract terms, and capital deployment sequencing
- Represent Dronazon to port authorities, customs agencies, civil aviation authorities, and government stakeholders across the Caribbean theater
- Build the local team and partner network that will sustain operations once routes are live
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate launched a scheduled cargo service in the Caribbean. If you have done that, send your resume and a brief note on which routes you launched and what you learned. We will make time to talk.
More broadly, we are looking for someone who has:
- Direct experience launching scheduled cargo operations in the Caribbean, including securing regulatory approvals and handler agreements in multiple island jurisdictions
- A track record of structuring and closing commercial freight contracts, preferably take-or-pay or guaranteed-minimum structures
- Deep relationships with Caribbean shippers, freight forwarders, port authorities, and civil aviation regulators
- Hands-on experience navigating the fragmented, relationship-driven commercial environment across English, Dutch, French, and Spanish-speaking island markets
- The operational credibility to work alongside a Part 135 flight operations team on schedule reliability and capacity planning
- Experience at a regional cargo carrier, an island-based logistics company, or a maritime/air freight operator with Caribbean operations (Amerijet, IBC Airways, Mountain Air, Tropical Shipping, Crowley, Seaboard Marine, and comparable operators are directly relevant backgrounds)
- Retiring military logistics officers with USTRANSCOM or MARFORCOM Caribbean theater experience are strongly encouraged to apply
What This Is Not
This is not a business development role at a freight brokerage. It is not a regional sales management role at a large carrier. We are not looking for someone who sold cargo capacity someone else built. We are looking for someone who built the network.
Compensation
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience. Performance incentives tied to network launch milestones. Dronazon is on a defined path to a public listing. Remote with Caribbean travel required Apply: [email protected]
