About The Role

The Virtual Tech Assistant at Steno is a part-time, remote position that plays a crucial role in delivering live, face-to-face technical support during depositions. As a Video Specialist, you will operate our proprietary platform, Steno Connect, providing real-time troubleshooting and support to legal professionals and clients. This role requires a professional with excellent communication skills, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to operate confidently in a virtual environment. You will be the primary technical point of contact during depositions, ensuring seamless audio, video, and technical functionality. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative setting, supporting a diverse team known as the "Vid-Squad," and gaining valuable experience in legal technology and client service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of customer service experience
  • At least 1+ year of experience with Zoom or other video conferencing platforms
  • Proficiency in Zoom and familiarity with virtual meeting tools (tested during interview)
  • Remote work experience of at least 6 months
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Availability of at least 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, between 9 am–5 pm PST
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly
  • Legal or startup experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time technical support during depositions using Steno Connect platform
  • Operate Zoom and other conferencing tools with a concierge, white-glove approach
  • Troubleshoot audio, video, and connectivity issues promptly to ensure smooth proceedings
  • Assist clients and legal professionals before, during, and after depositions to meet their technical needs
  • Maintain professionalism and a client-centric attitude at all times, ensuring exceptional service
  • Participate in comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training on deposition processes and workflows
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, including senior specialists, to deliver seamless support
  • Document technical issues and resolutions accurately for continuous improvement
