The Medical Assistant will be responsible for managing patient interactions, conducting clinical tasks, and handling administrative duties to facilitate efficient virtual visits. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required
- 1-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant within cardiology
- Experience providing virtual care to patients
- Proficiency in using telemedicine platforms and diagnostic tools
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and workflows
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to patient care
- Provide warm hand-offs to patients from internal and external call transfers
- Verify patient contact information and schedule initial physician visits
- Establish plans for collecting vitals and conducting initial surveys such as KCCQ
- Obtain baseline vitals, including weight, and perform medication reconciliation
- Verify medical histories and diagnostic information
- Coordinate lab draws and diagnostic tests as needed
- Prepare patients for physician visits by ensuring technical readiness, including video and audio setup, and adding interpreters if necessary
- Obtain signed consent forms and images of insurance cards
- Utilize translation services to communicate effectively with non-English speaking patients
- Prepare and document clinical charts, initiate patient visits, and record symptoms and vital signs
- Identify and document patient preferences, including pharmacy information
- Maintain ongoing communication with healthcare providers, reporting relevant visit information
- Schedule follow-up appointments and conduct appointment confirmation calls
- Perform chart checks and prepare documentation for upcoming visits
