To support continued growth and execution of its value-creation strategy, the firm is seeking a Vice President of Portfolio Operations (Operating Partner) to lead and support operational initiatives across its portfolio.
Position Overview
The Vice President of Portfolio Operations will serve as an Operating Partner, working closely with the executive teams of portfolio companies to enhance performance, scale operations, and deliver measurable results. This high-impact role requires a hands-on, execution-focused leader with deep operational expertise, strong financial acumen, and experience within private equity-backed businesses.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic advisor and tactical operator—capable of designing and implementing scalable solutions, leading change management efforts, and fostering collaboration across diverse leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Collaborate with portfolio company leadership to assess operations, identify inefficiencies, and implement scalable systems, processes, and tools aligned with investment objectives.
- Performance Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across functions such as finance, operations, supply chain, sales, and customer success to enhance productivity, revenue growth, and profitability.
- Strategic Execution: Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives, including market expansion, new product rollouts, and go-to-market strategies.
- Change Management: Lead organizational transformation projects, including process redesign, org structure changes, and cultural alignment, to drive operational agility and accountability.
- Financial Oversight: Work closely with CFOs and finance teams to analyze KPIs, review budgets and forecasts, and ensure alignment with value creation plans.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a key liaison between portfolio companies and the private equity firm, providing updates on operational performance and strategic initiatives.
- M&A & Integration: Participate in due diligence and lead post-acquisition integration efforts to ensure seamless transitions and realization of targeted synergies.
- Talent Development: Mentor and coach leadership teams, helping to build high-performing organizations and strong succession pipelines across the portfolio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field; MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 10 years of progressive operational leadership experience, including significant experience in private equity environments or portfolio company roles
- Proven track record of driving operational improvements and leading successful business transformations across multiple industries or sectors
- Deep experience managing and improving business functions such as supply chain, production, finance, and customer operations
- Strong financial literacy and experience using KPIs to drive performance
- M&A experience, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with C-suite executives, investors, and boards
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on, results-driven approach
- Based in the DFW Metro Area and willing to travel to portfolio companies as needed
