Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and execution-oriented Vice President of Operations to help build and scale the operational foundation of a fast-growing crypto and digital asset financial platform. Backed by Hillhouse Capital, our firm combines institutional-grade discipline with startup agility.
The VP of Operations will play a critical leadership role in translating strategy into scalable, compliant, and efficient execution across the organization. This role works closely with the CEO, CFO, CRO, and functional leaders, and is expected to evolve into a core pillar of the company’s long-term operating model.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee day-to-day operational functions across the company, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and scalability
- Design, implement, and continuously optimize operational processes, internal controls, and performance metrics
- Build operational infrastructure to support rapid growth across trading, asset management, custody, compliance, and client operations
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure regulatory readiness and institutional-grade governance
- Drive cross-functional execution across product, technology, finance, and operations teams
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to support data-driven decision-making
- Identify operational risks and inefficiencies; proactively design mitigation and improvement plans
- Support vendor management, third-party relationships, and strategic outsourcing decisions
- Lead and mentor operations team members, fostering a culture of accountability and execution excellence
- 10+ years of experience in operations leadership roles within financial services, fintech, crypto, trading, asset management, or regulated environments
- Proven experience scaling operations in high-growth or startup environments
- Strong understanding of operational risk, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks (U.S. preferred)
- Experience working with senior executives, boards, or institutional investors
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and build structure from the ground up
- Strong analytical, organizational, and execution capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and cross-functional leadership ability
- Experience in crypto, digital assets, capital markets, hedge funds, or proprietary trading firms
- Prior exposure to global or remote-first teams
- Experience supporting institutional clients or institutional-grade platforms
