About GlobalComix

GlobalComix is a venture-backed digital comics platform bringing the world’s best comics and manga to readers everywhere. We partner with major IP holders including Marvel, DC, and Kodansha, and enable thousands of creators around the world. We’re backed by leading VC’s who believe in our vision of becoming the definitive global platform for digital comics.

Our engineering team has fully adopted AI-native development workflows, including autonomous coding agents, which means we ship at a pace that would be impossible with traditional processes. This creates a unique opportunity—and a unique challenge—for the person leading Product.

The Role

We’re hiring a VP of Product who understands that when engineering velocity is effectively unlimited, the quality of product thinking becomes the company’s primary competitive advantage. You won’t spend your time managing Jira backlogs or negotiating sprint capacity. Instead, you’ll be the person who ensures we’re building the right things, for the right people, in the right order—and that what we ship is genuinely great.

This role is equal parts strategist, taste-maker, and communicator. You’ll own the product vision, drive a culture of rapid experimentation, and serve as the connective tissue between the CEO, Engineering, Design, Content, and Growth. You’ll work with an engineering team that can turn a well-defined idea into a working build in hours, which means your ability to frame problems clearly, prioritize ruthlessly, and evaluate outcomes honestly will directly determine how fast we learn and how good our product becomes.

What You'll Do

  • Own product vision and strategy. Define where GlobalComix is going over the next week and next year, and translate that into a clear, compelling roadmap. Continuously re-evaluate direction based on what you’re learning from users, data, and the market.
  • Maximize experimentation velocity. Design product development processes around rapid hypothesis testing. When engineering can build three prototypes in the time it used to take to spec one, your job is to make sure we’re extracting maximum learning from that speed. Define what to test, how to measure it, and when to commit or kill.
  • Bring taste to every surface. You’ll be the quality bar for the reader experience—from how manga flows on mobile to how a new user discovers their first title. You care about the details that make people stay, and you can articulate why something feels right or wrong.
  • Write exceptional product specs. In an AI-native engineering environment, the direction, alignment, and quality of the spec become the bottleneck. You’ll write briefs that are clear, specific, and opinionated enough to produce great first builds—and flexible enough to evolve through iteration.
  • Lead through clarity, not control. Communicate product direction across the company in a way that gives every team member context to make good decisions independently. Run lightweight, high-signal planning rituals that match our shipping cadence.
  • Collaborate at the executive level. Partner with the CEO and founders on strategic priorities, with engineering leadership on technical feasibility and architecture decisions, with growth on acquisition and retention strategy, and with content partnerships on publisher relationships and catalog strategy.
  • Build and lead the product function. Establish a product thinking culture that radiates beyond Product and Engineering, to every part of our company. Establish frameworks for prioritization, user research, and outcome measurement that scale with the team.
  • Champion the reader and creators. Be the person in every room who represents what’s best for the people reading and creating comics on our platform. Ground strategic decisions in genuine user insight, not assumptions.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years in product management, with at least 3–4 years in a senior or VP-level role at a consumer product company. Experience with content platforms, media, entertainment, or marketplaces is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated product taste. You have a portfolio of product decisions you’re proud of—moments where your judgment about what to build (or not build) materially shaped a product’s trajectory. You can walk us through them.
  • Experimentation mindset. You’ve built or led teams that run structured experiments at high volume. You understand statistical significance, you know when to trust your gut instead, and you’ve killed your own ideas based on data.
  • Comfort with AI-native workflows. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you need to understand how AI-assisted and autonomous development changes the product development loop. Familiarity with tools like OpenClaw, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar is a strong plus.
  • Strategic clarity. You can take a complex, ambiguous landscape—international content licensing, competing platforms, shifting reader demographics—and distill it into a strategy that a team can rally behind.
  • Exceptional communication. You write clearly, present compellingly, and create alignment without bureaucracy. You’re as effective in a 1:1 with a designer as you are presenting to the board.
  • Global perspective. Our platform serves readers worldwide and our content spans Western comics and Japanese manga. Familiarity with international markets, localization challenges, or the manga/anime ecosystem is a meaningful plus.
  • Bias for action and learning. You’d rather ship something imperfect and learn from it than over-plan. You find energy in ambiguity, not anxiety.

What This Role is Not

This is not a project management role. We don’t need someone to manage velocity, run standups, or track story points. Our engineering team and their AI workflows handle execution at speed. We need the person who makes sure that speed is pointed in the right direction and that what comes out the other side is excellent.

This is also not a committee-driven environment. You’ll have real ownership, real authority, and real accountability for product outcomes.

Why GlobalComix

  • Category-defining opportunity: we’re building the platform that will define how the world enjoys comics and manga around the world.
  • World-class content partnerships with Marvel, DC, Kodansha, and hundreds of publishers across the globe.
  • Proprietary AI technology that gives us a structural advantage in international expansion.
  • An engineering team operating at the frontier of AI-native development—you’ll be working with some of the most productive builders in the industry.
  • Direct partnership with a CEO with a Product & UX background, and who gives product leaders room to lead.
  • Competitive compensation including equity in a company positioned for significant growth.
