The National Security Technology Accelerator (NSTXL) harvests innovative technology from the commercial and non-defense marketplace, transforming government innovation while decreasing costs compressing timelines, and improving outcomes. We offer a unique and simplified approach to rapidly develop, demonstrate, and assess prototypes that address a range of operational and installation needs, from individual Warfighter technology to large-scale installation projects. NSTXL supports the delivery of technology to the Department of Defense by serving as a one-stop shop to match government requirements with innovative private-sector and academic solutions.

NSTXL is creating an ecosystem of innovators to collaborate and bring next generation technologies to the end-user. Currently, our OTAs have more than 900 corporate, non-profit, educational, and financial institution members. For these members, NSTXL offers opportunities to bid on government contracts, education and training, and live/virtual forums on a wide variety of topics.

Job Description

NSTXL seeks a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Human Resources to lead our human resources function and drive our people strategy. Reporting directly to the COO, the VP of HR will be a key team member, responsible for developing and executing HR initiatives that support the overall business objectives. This role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in all aspects of HR, a passion for fostering a positive and productive work environment, and the ability to translate business strategy into effective people management practices.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with the company's business plan and strategic goals.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the executive leadership team on all people-related matters, including organizational design, talent management, change management, and workforce planning.
  • Anticipate future HR challenges and opportunities and proactively develop solutions.
  • Design, implement, and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract, motivate, and retain employees while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee the evaluation of job roles and the development of salary structures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable compensation and benefits regulations.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work environment promoting employee engagement, communication, and collaboration.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations issues.
  • Conduct investigations for escalated employee relations issues and grievances.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations related to federal contractors.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the HR function and across the organization.
  • Develop, track, and analyze key metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and initiatives and determine the need for changes to programs and initiatives.
  • Manage a team of human resources professionals.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Senior-level HR certification - SPHR or SHRM-SCP.
  • Minimum of 15 years of executive-level HR experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR people management and development experience.
  • Track record of building, advancing high-level strategy, and scaling HR infrastructure to support an organization’s transformation from a funder-led, small business into a structured, mid-sized company, with an emphasis on change management, leadership development, and workforce planning.
  • Deep and comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of human resources management, including talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, HR operations, and employment law.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience working with HRIS and other HR technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to think both tactically and strategically.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in HR or a related field.
  • Industry experience in a start-up tech company serving government clients.

Salary Range

$200,000 - $220,000, plus participation in an incentive program
