The Opportunity
Our client is a highly successful, private equity-backed SaaS platform entering an exciting new phase of growth. Following a significant investment from a leading PE sponsor, the business is executing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy across Europe, with multiple acquisitions planned over the coming years.
As VP Finance, you will operate as a key strategic partner to the CFO, CEO and investors, helping shape the future direction of the business. This is a highly visible role at the centre of commercial decision-making, value creation and M&A activity, offering a unique opportunity to influence the growth trajectory of a rapidly scaling software platform.
This is not a traditional finance role. We are seeking an individual who combines strong financial acumen with commercial instinct, strategic thinking and a passion for building businesses through acquisition and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Value Creation
- Partner closely with the CFO, CEO and Board on strategic planning and business performance.
- Lead financial modelling, scenario analysis and long-range planning to support growth initiatives.
- Develop insights and recommendations that drive profitability, cash generation and shareholder value.
- Support investor reporting, board materials and strategic presentations.
M&A & Buy-and-Build
- Play a leading role in evaluating acquisition opportunities across Europe.
- Support financial due diligence, valuation analysis, deal structuring and business case development.
- Work closely with PE investors, advisors and management teams throughout transaction processes.
- Lead post-deal performance tracking and synergy measurement.
Integration & Transformation
- Drive the financial integration of acquired businesses onto a common operating model.
- Establish scalable reporting, planning and KPI frameworks across the platform.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, systems improvements and process optimisation.
- Help build a best-in-class finance function capable of supporting significant future growth.
Business Performance
- Oversee group performance management and provide actionable insights to business leaders.
- Monitor key SaaS metrics including ARR, NRR, churn, customer acquisition and profitability.
- Challenge assumptions and support decision-making through robust analysis and financial discipline.
Candidate Profile
- Experience within strategic finance, FP&A, corporate development, transaction services or finance transformation.
- Background in a SaaS, technology or high-growth PE-backed environment preferred.
- Exposure to M&A transactions, integrations or buy-and-build environments.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with direct exposure to senior leadership and investors.
- Fluent English required; German beneficial but not essential.
