Our mission is to provide students and their families with expert guidance, personalized mentorship, and a holistic experience, so they can navigate the IB and beyond with confidence and less stress.
The Role
We are looking for a University Counsellor specializing in UK and European admissions, particularly for countries offering English-taught programmes such as the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, and Ireland.
This role goes beyond traditional 1:1 counselling. We are looking for someone who wants to actively help shape and develop the university counselling service at IB Masters while supporting students in a hands-on, strategic, and personal way.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized university admissions strategies for students applying to UK and European universities
- Guide students and families in building balanced university lists, including aspirational, target, and safety options
- Maintain up-to-date expertise on admissions processes, requirements, and trends across UK and European institutions
- Advise on academic subject choices, extracurricular development, summer programmes, competitions, internships, and profile-building strategies
- Actively help students identify and pursue meaningful extracurricular, leadership, volunteering, research, summer school, internship, and competition opportunities
- Conduct regular 1:1 counselling sessions with clear action plans and progress tracking
- Maintain ongoing communication with students and families outside of sessions
- Collaborate with IB tutors and the internal team to provide a cohesive student experience
- Support the creation of university application resources, guides, workshops, and internal frameworks
- Contribute to webinars, events, marketing initiatives, and the growth of the counselling service
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in university counselling, especially UK and European admissions
- Strong knowledge of English-taught programmes across Europe
- Understanding of the IB system is highly preferred
- Ability to think strategically and holistically about student profiles
- Strong communication skills and a student-first approach
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
