Time Commitment: Approximately 6 meetings per annum plus associated support time. Meetings take place online or in person and typically last between 1 and 2 hours.

Term of Office: 4 Years

Remuneration: Whilst these roles are unpaid, reasonable out of pocket expenses such as travel expenses will be reimbursed by prior arrangement.

The Love Music Trust (the Trust) is the Hub Lead Organisation (HLO) for the Cheshire and Wirral Music Hub Area and with key partner Edsential CIC, works in partnership with local and regional music organisations to support, deliver and enable access to music education activity for children and young people across Cheshire and the Wirral. As HLO, the Trust is accountable to Arts Council England.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required

Our hope is that potential trustees will meet some or all of the following key areas of knowledge, skill and experience:

  • To have an understanding, knowledge or experience of music education
  • A commitment to the ambition and principles of the National Plan for Music Education, Music Hubs and partnership-working
  • An understanding of legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship, together with an understanding of the financial aspects of running a charity
  • An ability to contribute to shared decision making and collaborative working across the Music HLO, partner organisations and schools
  • An ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing an independent perspective
  • To be committed to Nolan’s Seven Principles of Public Life; Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Accountability, Openness, Honesty & Leadership
  • To be able to operate strategically and to work effectively with the Board of Trustees.

In particular, we are looking for trustees with specific knowledge, skills and experience in:

  • The music industry
  • Legal practice
  • Partnership working
  • Human resources
  • Educational management

Applications should also be legally eligible to stand as a registered Company Director and Charity trustee.

The role is also subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
