As the Total Rewards Lead, Variable Incentives, you will play a pivotal role in leading the design, maintenance, and execution of Flipp’s sales and variable incentive programs, ensuring they are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our revenue strategy. You will lead initiatives to optimize our variable programs, drive data-informed decisions, and enhance the overall employee value proposition. In this role, you will serve as an advisor to senior management and partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver a world-class Total Rewards and variable compensation strategy. This is a full-time contract role for 18 months.

What you'll get the opportunity to do:

Sales Incentive Design

  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of sales compensation and variable incentive programs that drive revenue and align with strategic goals.
  • Ensure programs are scalable, role-specific, and designed to motivate behaviors aligned to evolving go-to-market strategies.
  • Partner with External Partnerships (Sales and Business Development) team, Finance, and Revenue Operations on target quotas, commission structures, SPIFFs, and bonus metrics that reflect performance expectations.

Variable Incentive Design

  • Support the development and enhancement of variable pay programs across the organization - including performance-based pay, short-term incentives, and long-term incentive frameworks - ensuring alignment with business priorities, talent strategy, and organizational values.

Program Implementation & Governance

  • Oversee end-to-end rollout of new or revised sales incentive plans, including stakeholder training, communications, and change management activities in partnership with Sales Enablement.
  • Leverage data visualization techniques, dashboards, and modelling to support governance, implementation, and training of variable incentive plans.
  • Develop repeatable processes and playbooks to support the sustainable execution and annual refresh of variable pay programs.
  • Develop governance frameworks to ensure compliance with local regulations, corporate policies, and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Establish performance metrics and success indicators for incentive plans; evaluate effectiveness regularly and recommend refinements based on plan outcomes, ROI, and business impact.

Market Benchmarking and Analysis

  • Conduct regular competitive market analyses for sales compensation trends and best practices, ensuring our offerings remain both attractive and cost-effective.
  • Evaluate internal equity and pay positioning, recommending adjustments or new incentive options as necessary.
What you'll bring to the team:
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards or Compensation roles, with at least 3+ years focused on sales incentive or variable pay plan design.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate across multiple functions (Sales, Finance, Legal, etc.).
  • Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing global and regional sales compensation structures.
  • Strong analytical prowess with advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and technical proficiency in HR tooling (HRIS, Compensation Software, Incentive Software, and Data Visualization Platforms)
