Our client is a Private-Equity-backed software group focused on acquiring and scaling SaaS companies across Sweden and the broader Nordic region. The company operates in a highly fragmented market and is executing a buy-and-build strategy with a strong pipeline of acquisition targets. To accelerate its inorganic growth, the company is seeking an experienced M&A Manager with a strong emphasis on deal origination and proactive outreach.
The M&A Manager will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and engaging acquisition targets across the Swedish software landscape. This role requires a combination of analytical M&A capabilities and strong interpersonal skills to quickly establish trust with founders and management teams.
This is a hands-on, execution-oriented role with direct exposure to senior management, Private Equity sponsors, and portfolio leadership.
/ Build, manage, and expand a proprietary pipeline of acquisition targets across the Swedish and Nordic software/SaaS market
/ Conduct systematic deal origination and outreach to potential targets (founders, CEOs, shareholders)
/ Establish trust-based relationships with key stakeholders in a fragmented market environment
/ Evaluate companies based on strategic fit, technology model, financial performance, and integration potential
/ Coordinate with internal teams (commercial, product, finance) to assess opportunities
/ Support end-to-end deal processes, including initial screening, valuation inputs, and coordination of due diligence
/ Maintain structured reporting for deal funnel, outreach performance, and pipeline conversion
/ Represent the company in the market as a credible and trusted partner for potential sellers
/ Collaborate directly with the Management and PE sponsor on buy-and-build strategy refinement
Requirements
/ Minimum 5 years of experience in M&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or Management Consulting
/ Proven experience sourcing, building, or managing deal pipelines — ideally in fragmented markets
/ Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
/ Solid understanding of M&A fundamentals (valuation logic, financial analysis, deal structures)
/ Fluent Swedish is mandatory; English at a professional level
/ High comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, Private-Equity-driven environment
/ Ability to work independently and manage several parallel origination tracks
