Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy and Portfolio Ownership
- Carry full commercial accountability for a multi-product services portfolio, setting pricing strategy, customer segmentation, and market positioning across institutional and direct channels
- Grow the business without ownership of sales or marketing, working through strategic clarity, cross-functional alignment, and a close read of the market
- Identify adjacent growth opportunities, build the investment case, and lead execution in partnership with other functions
- Package and position service offerings for different buyer types, defining how the portfolio reaches the market across multiple channels
- Move with market speed, translating signals into clear direction rather than deferring to extended planning timelines
Program Delivery and Learner Outcomes
- Lead delivery of the company's education programs end to end, covering program management, student support, and quality assurance
- Design the accountability structures and reporting systems needed to produce measurable, sustainable improvement in learner performance
- Ensure consistent service quality across all customer-facing and student-facing touchpoints at scale
- Collaborate with Product and Technology to improve how programs are delivered and inform the long-range operational roadmap
Workforce Design and Operating Efficiency
- Own the workforce operating model across service delivery, setting strategy for staffing, capacity management, and utilization
- Reduce cost-to-serve through structural improvements to how work is organized and delivered, not just headcount management
- Build a staffing model capable of absorbing significant volume growth without a proportional rise in operating costs
Organizational Architecture and Growth Planning
- Design the organizational structure and operating model the business needs to support its next phase of scale
- Partner with Product and Technology to inform decisions about future service delivery capabilities and operational investment
- Translate the company's strategic priorities into the team structure, role definitions, and ways of working that will get it there
Senior Leadership and Stakeholder Influence
- Operate as a genuine peer on the executive team, building influence through results and collaborative problem-solving rather than organizational position
- Form close working relationships across Sales, Marketing, Product, Technology, and Customer Success to align on growth, adoption, and retention priorities
- Earn trust with educators, school administrators, and institutional partners by listening well and delivering consistently
Qualifications & Experience
- A decade or more of senior leadership in services-oriented businesses, with clear evidence of building and scaling complex, multi-channel delivery operations from the ground up
- Deep working knowledge of how large-scale workforce services businesses operate, covering staffing model design, utilization, and cost-to-serve efficiency
- A track record of growing a services business commercially without direct ownership of sales or marketing
- Direct P&L ownership experience at scale, with accountability for a business unit or portfolio at or above $50M
- A decision-making style built for speed, able to set clear direction and move when the market shifts rather than waiting for consensus-driven planning processes
- Broad industry experience that provides cross-sector pattern recognition, enabling fast orientation in a new domain
- A leadership style grounded in active listening and domain curiosity, building credibility in mission-driven organizations through delivery rather than assumption
- Experience in edtech or services businesses that serve the education sector is a plus
