The Opportunity
CivicSol is seeking a Studio Manager to play a central role in delivering client work at the intersection of strategy, cities, workforce and economic development, and public policy. This role is designed for someone who wants to work on complex civic challenges and who enjoys turning analysis, ideas, and direction into clear, well-structured, client-ready materials.
The Studio Manager supports multiple engagements at once, working closely with CivicSol’s principals to manage day-to-day execution, contribute to data-driven analysis and insight development, and ensure consistency and quality across projects. The role also includes a significant focus on proposal development, supporting the firm’s growth by translating strategic direction into competitive submissions.
This is a full-time, fully remote position. The role requires independence, strong judgment, and comfort working across issue areas, while remaining highly collaborative and client-facing. The Studio Manager will regularly engage with public-sector leaders, practitioners, and partners across the country.
Key Responsibilities
The Studio Manager plays a central role in leading execution across multiple client engagements, with responsibility for quality, coordination, and follow-through across projects, analytics, and proposals.
Project Delivery and Coordination
- Lead day-to-day execution of multiple client engagements, including workplans, timelines, coordination, and delivery
- Own development of client-facing deliverables using CivicSol frameworks and templates
- Produce high-quality staff work, including options, draft recommendations, and structured materials that inform client decision-making
- Serve as a client-facing team member in meetings and select on-site engagements
- Ensure consistency, quality, and momentum across projects, proactively identifying and addressing risks
Data Analysis and Insights
- Lead peer benchmarking, cluster analysis, and related economic and workforce analytics
- Synthesize data into clear, decision-relevant insights for public-sector leaders
- Prepare analytic materials that support client work sessions and strategic discussions
- Ensure analytic rigor, accuracy, and clarity across all work products
Proposals and Business Development
- Lead proposal development for assigned RFPs and RFQs, from strategy through submission
- Translate senior direction into clear, competitive, submission-ready proposals
- Manage proposal schedules, inputs, and production to meet deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and project management skills, along with an interest in applied work at the intersection of cities, workforce, and public policy.
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, economics, planning, business, or a related field; master’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in economic development, workforce development, public-sector consulting, government, philanthropy, or a related policy environment.
- Experience supporting or managing multi-stakeholder projects involving cities, public agencies, employers, and community partners.
- Familiarity with strategy development efforts such as sector strategies, workforce initiatives, economic development plans, or related policy work.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with experience producing memos, reports, and presentations for external audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Interest in place-based, applied policy work and contributing to projects with tangible community impact.
