Blog Writer + Video Maker – student intern
We search an enthusiastic and energetic student intern who loves cats, and specifically likes to interview (cat)people, nonprofit cat organizations, and turn the interview results into compelling blogstories and all sorts of other engaging and fun cat content (e.g. cat memes, cat's favorites videos, cat facts/quizzes, catfluencer of the month, cat tips/advice).
With our Global Cat PR Agency CatSwoppr we give a voice to cats all over the world. Our unpaid volunteer pawsition is for a pro-active student intern who has a knack for journalism and content creation. Someone who can practically execute the ideas we as team have, and someone who likes to build his or her CV with blog writing and social media production and management. The workload is maximum 6 à 8 hours a week.
The main reason to join us, is your love for cats. You simply enjoy creating stories - written and in video - putting cats in the spotlight and talking to cats, cat pawrents and non-profit cat organizations: our clients.
We aim to publish with our team one cat story per week. So far, since October 2022, we have helped over a 164 clients from all continents and gave them a bespoke blog and extra media attention in the international cat community.

How Do You Give Back to Cats?
In your role as Blog Writer and Video Maker you are actively scanning our socials - Insta and TikTok (and FB and Twitter too if you can handle) – and the web in general in search for new clients/cat friends. It also happens they knock on our door, and, of course, we do always open.
When you have scouted a cat or cat organizations with a story to tell, you will interview the affiliated hooman. Based on your interview material, you will then start working on a blog draft.
Your writing style is pawsitive and uplifting, even though topics can be sad, like diseases or felines who passed away.
Once the blog draft is finished, you upload it in our Gdrive. Via our Whatsapp group, you let (one of) our inhouse (rotating) editor(s), know that the draft is ready to be edited.
After her check and last adjustments, you receive a Go for publishing the story on our website. Founder suki will do that for you on Tuesdays and you will receive a sign when it is done. On Wednesday, you will then push the story via our Insta and our TikTok (and ideally also our Twitter/X and Facebook) in the visual brand style of CatSwoppr. For this, you can use the templates in our Canva/Figma.
You then also will make a videorecap of the cat story you wrote with Capcut/Canva/AdobePremiere whatever video editing program suits you the best. We have a small tutorial how to make the videorecap in Capcut. And we have team members, who can guide you in making a video.
Ideally, you are familiar with SEO and popular hashtags. We thus work with a Whatsapp group. Discord is used for general daily communication with our whole team. You will get access to our Gdrive, Capcut, Canva, Trello, Figma, Insta and two Facebooks, TikTok and Twitter/X. Our team meetings are on Monday evenings 20.30-21.30hrs Amsterdam Time.
We Offer You
Time and space to use your skillset serving your beloved furry friend: the cat. Of course, if you want the internship to be part of your (applied) university curriculum, and if your professor agrees, we would be very happy to fill out intern papers for you, and all other necessary documents. We have done such in the past for the University of Padova, Erasmus University, Leiden University, Avans Hogeschool Breda, Saxion Hogeschool.
