Commitment: Part-time (approx. 20–40% to start)

About Nuvia & Our Current Momentum Nuvia Association for Nutrition and Health (nuvianutrition.org) is a Basel-based NPO with a global vision: to act as the essential conduit between evidence-based lifestyle science and its practical application, ensuring that the latest breakthroughs in nutrition and lifestyle don't just exist in theory but are successfully integrated into public health frameworks and the fabric of daily community life.
Following a successful foundational period, we are now entering a Strategic Acceleration Phase. With our governing board established, high-level institutional connections in Switzerland, and several key strategic partners already in place, we are ready to scale our impact.
Nuvia is already in motion; we are getting ready to launch our flagship project, the Nuvia Community, a platform which will serve as our primary hub for transforming foundational health. Simultaneously, we are building institutional support through high-level dialogue with government officials and key Swiss health stakeholders to establish a blueprint for health advocacy, all while collaborating with established entities to validate and scale our mission.
The Opportunity: Fueling the Mission We are seeking a Strategic Development Lead to convert this significant momentum into a sustainable financial engine. This is a "Pioneer" role for a professional who can leverage our existing political and strategic "open doors" to secure funding from Swiss foundations, global health bodies, and corporate CSR partners.
Nuvia is moving from "Startup" to "Scale-up," and we offer a transparent, three-stage career path to reflect this growth. This begins with Stage 1 (The Acceleration), a volunteer/pro-bono commitment focused on professionalizing our donor pipeline and converting our institutional momentum into secured grants and pledges. Upon reaching a defined funding milestone in Stage 2 (The Trigger), such as the first CHF 50k–75k secured, this role transitions into a paid, part-time employment contract with a competitive Swiss salary. Finally, in Stage 3 (Global Leadership), as our funding diversifies, you will lead the expansion of Nuvia’s global development department, securing the resources for international health projects.
Your Mission Your primary focus will be capitalizing on our current traction by leveraging Nuvia’s institutional credibility and political "open doors" to build a high-conversion donor base comprising institutional partners and private philanthropists, while continuously expanding our network of strategic stakeholders. You will lead flagship fundraising efforts to secure dedicated funding for the Nuvia Community project, targeting a diverse portfolio of Swiss and international grant-makers. Additionally, you will drive our global positioning by reaching out to family offices and health foundations to present Nuvia as a scalable Swiss innovation. Rooted in Basel, you will also engage with the region's unique Life Sciences and business hub to forge long-term, high-impact CSR collaborations.
Who You Are & What We Offer The ideal candidate is a high-level networker who is comfortable working within an organization already engaging with government and major partners. You are a Swiss expert with a global lens, understanding the nuances of the local philanthropic landscape while possessing the vision to scale outreach to international donor networks and global health organizations. Native-level or fluent English and German are essential to navigate local policy and global health, while French is considered a significant asset. Above all, you are a strategist who recognizes that you aren't starting from zero, but rather from a position of "proof of concept" with high-level buy-in. In return, we offer a role in an NPO that already has "doors open" at the highest levels in Switzerland, the autonomy to shape a global development strategy from the ground up, and a clear, contractually backed path to a salaried leadership role.
How to Apply If you have the expertise to turn high-level momentum into sustainable growth, we would love to hear from you. Please send your LinkedIn profile or CV to Erin Maurer (Vice President) at [email protected].
