Athlete Lab – Sports Pharmacy supports young people (ages 6–25)—including competitive and recreational athletes, para-athletes, and LGBTQ+ youth—with safe, inclusive, evidence-based care. Our team provides medication reviews, anti-doping–aware guidance, and support for chronic and acute conditions, with clear education for families and coaches. We’re a remote-first, Uppsala-based service working across Sweden to promote health, safety, and confident return-to-play.
Role: Part-time Sport Psychologist (Remote, Sweden)
You’ll provide psychological support and performance-focused interventions for youth and young adult athletes. This includes:
- Assessing and treating common mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety, low mood, stress, perfectionism, body image, eating-related difficulties).
- Supporting performance topics (e.g., confidence, focus, pre-competition nerves, motivation, recovery after injury, identity and transitions).
- Offering individual sessions (video/phone) and, where relevant, joint sessions with caregivers or coaches.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team (pharmacist, physiologist, nutritionist) to ensure integrated and safe care, including return-to-play decisions.
- Providing clear education to families, clubs, and coaches around psychological safety, safeguarding, and healthy sport environments.
Qualifications
- Legitimerad psykolog with a valid Swedish license.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and/or young adults.
- Strong interest in sport, exercise, or performance psychology - clinical sport experience is a plus
- Skilled communicator; comfortable working via e-health
- Confidence in working inclusively with LGBTQ+ youth and diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Fluency in Swedish and English.
