Job Description
Behindthechair.com is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and driven Social Media Associate to join our team. You will play a key role in supporting and executing our social media strategy across various platforms to increase brand awareness, engage our audience, and drive business goals.
This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes social media, stays ahead of digital trends, and has a passion for storytelling and content creation.
Success in this position goes beyond simply creating and posting content—the ideal candidate will take the time to truly understand our businesses (Behindthechair.com, BTC-University, and ARC Scissors), immerse themselves in our socials, shows and educational platforms and consistently bring creative ideas to the table, driven by a passion for the professional hair industry.
What You’ll Do:
This role will work alongside our behindthechair.com Team for various department needs, including but not limited to:
- Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
- Collaborate with our internal teams to create visual and written content aligned with brand guidelines.
- Monitor social media channels daily for engagement opportunities, trends, and community interaction.
- Respond to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely and professional manner to foster community growth.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics and generate regular performance reports.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices.
- Assist in influencer and brand partnership campaigns.
- Support paid social campaigns by coordinating assets and tracking performance.
- Contribute ideas to content planning and campaign brainstorming sessions.
Who You Are (job requirements/qualifications):
- 1–2 years of experience in social media marketing or digital content creation (internships included).
- Strong understanding of all major social media platforms and their best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where internal and external communication moves quickly; strong prioritization is essential.
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar tools).
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hubspot, Later, Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
- A creative eye and a passion for visual storytelling.
- Bonus: Video editing skills and/or familiarity with TikTok and Reels content trends.
- Highly organized, able to multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A passion for social media, a positive attitude, and a desire to grow and innovate!
