Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Site Supervisor at Gantrex. The Site Supervisor oversees day-to-day site activities related to crane rail installation and maintenance, ensuring work is executed safely, on time, and according to technical specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating site work, supervising and supporting on-site crews, managing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role also involves communicating progress and issues to project managers and clients, maintaining detailed site documentation, and proactively resolving operational challenges. The Site Supervisor may travel regularly to customer sites and collaborate closely with engineering, logistics, and commercial teams to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong site supervision skills, including coordinating crews, managing daily activities, and ensuring adherence to project plans and safety procedures.
  • Technical understanding of industrial construction or heavy industry environments; experience with crane rail systems, steel structures, or similar applications is a plus.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, site plans, and installation guidelines.
  • Experience with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, including risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident reporting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and customers in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on quality, reliability, and meeting project deadlines.
  • Comfort working in a remote role with frequent site travel; valid driver’s license and ability to work on industrial sites as required.
  • Relevant technical diploma or degree (e.g., construction, mechanical, civil, or industrial engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or foreperson role on construction or industrial projects is highly beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of standard office and project tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, basic reporting software); familiarity with project management tools is an asset.
