Company Description
Sentinel Net Lease is a commercial real estate investment platform focused on single-tenant net lease assets in the middle market. We operate through fund and syndicated structures, partnering with institutional, family office, and high-net-worth investors. We're lean, entrepreneurial, and deliberately building a platform that punches well above its headcount.
Role Description
We're hiring a Senior Vice President of Operations & Innovation to be a force multiplier for our principals and the architect of the firm's operating backbone. This is a high-trust, high-aperture seat for an exceptional operator who moves fluidly across investor relations, fund operations, technology, and special projects. Above all, you see AI and modern technology as a lever: you reach for AI first to draft, analyze, automate, and prototype, and you bring real creativity to how a firm operates. The role requires a proactive, organized, and resourceful individual with strong leadership capabilities.
What You'll Own
🤖 AI & Technology Leadership: Champion AI across the firm. Identify where LLMs, agents, and automation can replace manual effort and sharpen output across IR, reporting, underwriting support, and operations. Build AI-enabled workflows and internal tools the whole team can use, and continuously raise our technical baseline.
⚙️ Operational Architecture: Design, document, and own the firm's core processes. Re-engineer fragmented work into scalable systems with clear ownership. Build the playbooks that let us grow AUM without growing chaos.
🌐 Offshore Team & Vendor Management: Build and manage offshore staff who execute routine work to a high standard, with clear quality loops and escalation paths. Manage outside vendors to clear deliverables.
📈 Investor Relations (Strategy & Oversight): Own the IR function at the strategy and quality level (communications, capital calls, distributions, reporting calendar, and the overall investor experience) while offshore staff handle production. Serve as a senior point of contact for key relationships when warranted.
📊 Fund Operations & Reporting: Connect property-level performance to fund-level returns. Apply a working understanding of fund structures, GP/LP economics, preferred returns, promotes, and waterfalls to validate figures and explain investor outcomes.
🎯 Special Projects: Take ownership of high-priority initiatives spanning acquisitions, asset management, accounting, and operations — and drive them to completion.
Qualifications
- 6 to 10 years as a high-performing operator at a CRE fund, investment manager, sponsor, syndicator, or similarly operationally intensive environment
- Bachelor's degree required
- Demonstrated AI fluency with daily, hands-on use of LLMs and AI tools to draft, analyze, automate, and prototype, with a track record of applying them to real work
- Proven ability to design and implement processes, automations, and workflows that scale
- Strong command of fund structures, GP/LP economics, and payment waterfalls; able to read property financials and cash flow analyses
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; translates complexity into clear, concise narrative
- Power-user fluency with spreadsheets, CRMs, and modern automation/productivity tools
- Experience managing people, offshore teams, or vendors
- Entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional judgment, and a relentless bias to action
Compensation
Base salary $150,000 to $200,000/year, commensurate with experience. Performance bonus and deal-level profit participation dependent on experience and performance. High-visibility seat with direct exposure to every stage of the investment lifecycle and the firm's long-term upside.
