Position Title: Senior Vice President of Project Management

Reports to: CEO / COO / President

Position Summary

The Senior Vice President of Project Management provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for the company’s project, program, and portfolio management functions. This role ensures that critical initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with corporate strategy, while driving operational excellence and enterprise-wide execution discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) and all major programs and initiatives
  • Define and implement project governance frameworks, methodologies, standards, and best practices
  • Oversee portfolio prioritization to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and capital allocation
  • Provide executive oversight of high-value, complex, and cross-functional projects
  • Ensure effective risk management, financial controls, and performance tracking across all projects
  • Partner with senior business leaders to translate strategy into executable programs and milestones
  • Monitor project delivery, timelines, budgets, and resource utilization; drive corrective actions as needed
  • Report project portfolio performance, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership and the Board
  • Build, develop, and retain high-performing project and program management leaders
  • Drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and delivery excellence across the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in project, program, or portfolio management
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, enterprise-wide, or multi-region initiatives
  • Strong understanding of project governance, financial management, and risk controls
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with executive leadership

Preferred Experience

  • Experience leading an enterprise PMO or major transformation programs
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or PRINCE2 preferred
  • Experience in [industry-specific field, e.g., infrastructure, energy, technology, manufacturing]
  • Background in complex, matrixed, or multinational organizations
