Our client, a medical device company specialising in a niche critical care therapy with applications in cardiac surgery, organ transplantation and sepsis, is seeking a Senior Vice President for Direct Sales (second line management) to lead its European sales organisation. The company has a unique product and a strong market presence, with substantial revenue in Europe.


The Senior Vice President, International Direct Sales will be responsible for the next phase of growth with the implementation of sales force effectiveness and commercial excellence programs, along with reshaping the company’s direct sales organisation across key European markets. The role requires both a data-driven growth leader and a visionary sales leader to manage and develop an existing sales team. The company has commercial operations in 75 countries with direct sales in Germany, Poland, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland.


Key Requirements:

  • Proven global commercial excellence/sales effectiveness expertise, ideally with scale-up experience.
  • A background in medical devices, with experience in similar therapies (such as critical care, cardiovascular, or similar), is preferred.
  • Data-driven approach to sales management (KPIs, monitoring, structured processes).
  • Visionary, charismatic communicator who can translate change into motivation.
  • Experience in direct sales leadership, ideally paired with commercial operations expertise.
  • Ability to balance priorities between strategic growth and team culture and continuity.
  • Ideally, fluency in English and German.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Availability to travel.
