Position: Senior Telecom Engineer
Location: Remote (Netherlands)
Duration: 1 year (Possible extension)
Overview
Seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecom Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced telecommunications systems. This role will focus on onsite telephony, conference room solutions, and SaaS-based call center platforms (Zoom, Five9). The ideal candidate has strong hands-on expertise, ensures seamless communication systems, and can lead telecom-related initiatives in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain telephony systems (PBX, VoIP, SIP trucking).
- Configure and troubleshoot telephony hardware/software to ensure availability and performance.
- Design and implement AV and telecom solutions for conference rooms integrated with Zoom, Teams, Webex.
- Maintain and support conferencing equipment (displays, microphones, speakers).
- Administer SaaS-based call center platforms (Zoom Phone, Five9) and configure call flows, IVR, queues, agent profiles.
- Monitor call center KPIs, analyze data, and implement performance improvements.
- Integrate telephony/call center systems with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues.
- Lead projects including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
- Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting for knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 10+ years of telecom engineering experience with focus on telephony systems.
- 3+ years managing SaaS call center platforms (Zoom, Five9).
- Proven expertise in AV and conference room technologies.
- Strong knowledge of VoIP, PBX, SIP, and related protocols.
- Proficiency with Zoom, Five9, or similar SaaS platforms.
- Experience with CRM integrations and call center analytics.
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards (HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Preferred Certifications
- Cisco CCNA Collaboration, Avaya certifications, or equivalent.
- Zoom Phone or Five9 certifications.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and end-user support skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
