About Seprify:

Headquartered in Marly (CH), Seprify AG, founded in 2022 as a spin-out from the University of Cambridge and the University of Fribourg, develops high-performance ingredients from cellulose, the world’s most abundant biopolymer.

We are building a new class of light-scattering, high-performance materials designed to replace conventional polymeric and mineral based functional ingredients across industries.

We are a scaling deep-tech company combining scientific excellence with entrepreneurial execution. This role offers significant ownership, direct exposure to leadership and the opportunity to shape a growing commercial engine.

Role Overview:

  • Position: Senior Technical Sales Manager - Cosmetics & Personal Care
  • Location: Europe (flexible)
  • Type: Full-time

We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of a segment and turn technical innovation into visible market adoption.

You will take full commercial ownership of our Cosmetics & Personal Care segment and turn technical validation into visible, revenue-generating market adoption. This is not a distributor management role and not a corporate account manager position. It is a hands-on, high-impact commercial role in a growing materials company.

You will operate at the intersection of science and business, working directly with formulators, brands, and our internal technical team to drive visible market adoption.

Responsibilities:

Build the cosmetics commercial engine

  • Own and prioritise the cosmetics pipeline.
  • Turn testing results into repeatable commercial sales.
  • Secure commercial sales with visible reference customers.
  • Drive negotiations and close structured commercial agreements.

Translate science into revenue

  • Present confidently in front of external R&D and formulation teams.
  • Translate performance data into formulation support.
  • Work closely with product development to accelerate validation.
  • Support customers through testing, iteration and launch.

Be disciplined in a startup environment

  • Focus on customers that move the needle.
  • Say “no” to opportunities that dilute focus.
  • Protect pricing and avoid unnecessary exclusivity.
  • Escalate structural commercial decisions appropriately.
  • Maintain clear, transparent pipeline reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in chemistry, formulation science, materials science, or related field.
  • 5-10+ years’ experience in cosmetics & personal care sales or specialty ingredients.
  • Demonstrated track record of converting technical validation into commercial agreements.
  • Experience working directly with formulators and/or recognised cosmetic brands.
  • Strong negotiation capability and commercial judgement.
  • Self-directed and comfortable owning a segment in a lean, scaling environment.

What This Role Is Not:

  • Not a junior account management position.
  • Not a pure applications scientist role.
  • Not a volume-driven territory sales role.
  • Not suited to someone who needs heavy corporate infrastructure.

Why Join:

  • Join a scaling deep-tech company transitioning from validation to industrial production, with the opportunity to shape how a new class of materials enters global markets.
  • Be part of building a new materials platform from early market adoption to large-scale production.
  • Work in an interdisciplinary team combining science, engineering and commercial execution.
  • Direct exposure to leadership and strategic decision-making.
