Senior Member Services Manager
The Long Duration Energy Storage Council is a global non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the decarbonisation of our world through the acceleration of long-duration energy storage. Our members and Board are made up of executives and business leaders from leading energy companies, technology providers, investors, and end-users. We provide member-driven, fact-based guidance and research on the deployment of long-duration energy storage for society's benefit.
Up to 8 TW of LDES is needed globally by 2040 to support the lowest cost pathway to net zero, but policy is fragmented and often insufficient to enable the investment that is needed to deliver LDES at this scale.
The Senior Member Services Manager is a strategic revenue and growth leader responsible for driving membership expansion, strengthening retention, increasing member satisfaction, and supporting sponsorship and partnership revenue.
This role manages a portfolio of key member accounts while leading acquisition strategy, engagement execution, and CRM-driven performance tracking. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, commercially minded, and experienced in using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) to manage pipelines, track engagement, and generate actionable insights.
Success in this role will be measured by membership growth, retention, increased engagement participation, and expanded revenue from dues and sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Growth & Revenue Generation
- Develop and execute membership growth strategy
- Drive interest in LDES Council events, thought leadership placements, and sponsorship packages.
- Own and execute against defined annual revenue targets tied to membership growth, retention, and sponsorship
- Interface with members, partners, sponsors, and industry leaders to gather market intelligence and identify emerging trends impacting the long duration energy storage ecosystem.
- Maintain visibility across industry conferences, policy developments, and company movements to inform growth strategy
- Manage all aspects of the membership sales cycle, from prospecting to close, within Salesforce.
- Actively recruit new members through targeted outreach campaigns, in-person meetings, and executive engagement.
- Develop deep, multi-level relationships within member organisations, engaging executives beyond primary contacts.
- Support revenue growth through training programs, executive forums, and strategic engagement offerings.
- Maintain accurate sales pipelines and opportunity tracking within Salesforce.
Retention, Engagement & Member Satisfaction
- Manage a portfolio of key members, overseeing day-to-day engagement, relationship management, and revenue expansion.
- Conduct regular member check-ins (virtual and in-person) to strengthen multi-level relationships.
- Develop a deep understanding of member priorities, challenges, and strategic goals to deliver relevant value.
- Implement structured engagement strategies including committee participation and tailored opportunities.
- Lead onboarding for new members to ensure full awareness of engagement pathways within LDES Council.
- Monitor satisfaction through outreach, participation trends, and feedback mechanisms.
- Drive consistent engagement participation across events, committees, and working groups.
Strategic Planning & Market Intelligence
- Analyze membership growth, engagement metrics, and revenue performance to inform strategic decisions.
- Represent LDES Council at industry conferences, executive forums, and member events.
- Develop and maintain executive dashboards tracking growth, retention, pipeline activity, and engagement levels.
- Present quarterly performance reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Monitor industry developments, company movements, and LDES market trends to inform recruitment and engagement strategies.
Partnership & Sponsorship Support
- Identify and cultivate relationships with prospective sponsors and strategic partners.
- Develop and manage sponsorship packages for events, programs, and publications.
- Collaborate with marketing and programming teams to ensure seamless execution from sale to delivery.
- Track sponsorship revenue and renewal pipelines within Salesforce.
- Support sponsorship agreement development and fulfillment oversight.
Membership Operations & CRM Management
- Serve as owner of the membership CRM database, ensuring data integrity, accurate pipeline management, and actionable reporting.
- Manage renewal cycles, invoicing coordination, and dues tracking in partnership with Finance.
- Monitor renewal trends and proactively mitigate churn risk.
- Oversee tracking and distribution of member engagement metrics across the organisation.
- Develop dashboards that provide visibility into growth, retention, revenue, and engagement performance.
Qualifications
Required
- 5–8+ years of experience in membership management, business development, association management, or strategic account management.
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth and retention.
- Demonstrated experience working within the energy, clean energy, power, grid, storage, or broader energy infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of long duration energy storage (LDES), grid reliability, market structures, and decarbonisation trends.
- Established network within the energy ecosystem, including utilities, developers, OEMs, investors, policymakers, or technology providers.
- Experience managing a sales or membership pipeline.
- Proven ability to build executive-level relationships.
- Experience supporting sponsorship or partnership revenue.
- Proficiency in CRM systems required; Salesforce strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with experience building reports and dashboards.
