Job Summary
As a member of the Medical Affairs team, your focus will be on advancing medical and scientific initiatives in Rare Diseases. You will also provide scientific leadership and support for the implementation of integrated tactical and engagement plans, while upholding the highest standards of compliance and scientific integrity in Switzerland.
(Senior) Medical Science Liaison Manager, Switzerland
Responsibilities and Duties
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the integrated strategic and tactical plan with key focus on the medical and scientific projects and tactics
- Oversee and initiate medical projects in collaboration with clinical partners and research networks
- Provide medical support, especially for Rare Diseases.
- Oversee and further develop the company’s internal genetic testing programs.
- Identify stakeholders and provide insights for future clinical developments
- Organize and lead local advisory boards and Key External Expert meetings to gain insights, foster scientific exchange and support the local strategy.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of scientific communication plans, medical information materials, as well as non-promotional scientific presentations.
- Participate in local medical and cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Support the commercial team and HCPs, identify knowledge gaps, share knowledge about the efficacy and safety of the clients products including how to use them.
- Play a pivotal role in establishing appropriate multidisciplinary care including patient support programs, as well as identifying hurdles and solutions in order to optimize patient identification and referral pathways
Qualifications and Skills
- Advanced degree in pharmaceutical, scientific, or medical field (PharmD, PhD, MD).
- At least 6 years of experience in a comparable role within the biopharmaceutical sector, ideally with a focus on rare diseases.
- Sound experience in building strong relationships with key stakeholders & professional networks (HCPs, specialist nurses, payors, multi-disciplinary teams, patient associations, professional medical associations)
- Experience in mapping patient journeys and referral pathways, as well as data generation in close contact with external and internal Key Experts
- Proven experience in executing successful pre-/launches
- Excellent communication skills and scientific expertise, especially in presenting to diverse audiences.
- Track record of driving cross-functional collaboration with a one-team mindset
- In-depth knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system, medical landscape, and current trends in reimbursement and industry.
- Willingness to travel within Switzerland.
- Fluent in German and English, written and spoken, knowledge of French is a plus
