Sr. Manager, Human Resources

OVERVIEW
The Sr. Manager - Human Resources is responsible for overall human resources services that are within TELUS Digital corporate support functions. This includes providing leadership support and guidance to functional areas located in the designated region, such as the United States. The Senior Manager will deliver initiatives related to productivity and engagement, organizational behavior, training, labor employment, performance management, compensation management, benefit and wellness initiatives, and any other human resources initiatives required to meet and exceed the needs of the business.
The successful candidate will provide excellent HR partnership to over 3000 team members who make up the North America Region on a variety of human resources programs, policies, and practices that enhance the employee experience, expand the organization, and minimize risk. This person offers thought leadership regarding organizational and people-related strategy and execution; provides insightful data to guide decision-making and provides proactive solutions. The HR Sr Manager leads a variety of strategic and long-range HR projects in support of our employee engagement, retention, talent acquisition, high performance, and HR service delivery goals. The role reports to the Global VP of HR and Total Rewards. The HR Sr Manager will be a member of the global HR Leadership Team. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a strategic business partner to the leaders in the North American region at TELUS Digital, the HR Senior Manager will be a key team member who will ensure their assigned support areas are fully informed and aligned with the overall P&C goals.
- Partner with the respective Leadership Team members and their country leaders to provide strategic Human Resource guidance. This includes the development, implementation, and/or oversight of team member engagement and productivity, contingency planning, compensation, and performance management programs for the workforce.
- Coordinate all strategic activities as appropriate with cross-functional teams for remote employees and the global human resources community.
- Responsible for providing HR guidance/support to client group(s) in most of the following areas: competency development, succession planning, talent management, talent acquisition, employment law compliance, employee relations, employee engagement, communication, change management, and process improvement.
- Coach and consult with management on issues improving morale, performance, development, and organization effectiveness, helping to determine root causes and recommending appropriate next steps.
- Provide expert guidance and direction to client group(s) to ensure consistent, equal, and fair treatment of all employees.
- Exercise significant decision-making authority on employee relations matters, with the ability to influence company-wide policies.
- Consult with managers to ensure the regular application of and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Partner with the wider HR Team to address and satisfy client group(s) requirements. Apply expert knowledge of key business drivers in making decisions related to human capital.
- Present, train and/or facilitate workforce development programs.
- Support communication on and utilization of performance management tools & processes and compensation & rewards programs.
- Introduce, lead and influence change management initiatives with client group leaders in order to address issues that will enhance overall performance and build the overall human capital capability of the organization.
- Conduct and manage the investigation of complaints and concerns that could result in legal ramifications; assess the severity, involve appropriate individuals, and facilitate appropriate action based on policy and practice.
- Provide coaching and consultative services to the leadership team on employee-related issues.
- Work in highly matrix organization providing guidance and support to other functions including but not limited to Total Rewards, PR/marketing, Global Learning Excellence Team
- Provide HR support for the greater P&C team around the world
- Assist in the resolution of all people and organizational issues with a focus on maintaining positive employee relations while optimizing the organization’s performance.
- Responsible for evaluating new procedures for maintaining harmony in the organization and establishing goals of a personnel nature to support production.
- Provide proactive leadership and change management expertise in support of strategic business initiatives, projects, and changes.
- Identify and implement local practices, policies, and systems that will enable growth, improve operating performance, support organizational effectiveness and align with corporate direction. Ensure effective utilization of all location employees; identify and evaluate capabilities and serve as the lead in the deployment of resources to meet business needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business, Master’s Degree preferred, and a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in a global leadership role
- Experience in California
- IT skills and knowledge of HR databases
- Relationship builder with a highly collaborative approach
- Experience partnering with and influencing a management team
- Deep HR and/or business experience with contact centers is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in highly matrixed global teams
- Project Management expertise is desirable.
