About the Company
Thrively is partnering with one of our long-standing clients, a private equity–backed healthcare technology company that supports mission-critical workflows across the healthcare ecosystem.
The company is established, values-driven, and operates in a complex, multi-state, regulated environment. They are investing in strengthening their internal HR infrastructure as they transition away from a PEO model and bring more ownership in-house.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, execution-oriented HR role with a strong focus on benefits ownership, payroll execution, and HR operations.
You’ll partner closely with HR leadership and managers across the business to ensure:
- Benefits programs are well-managed and scalable
- Payroll is executed accurately and consistently
- Managers are supported with practical, compliant HR guidance
This is not a purely employee relations role — it’s an HR operator role for someone who enjoys owning core HR functions and being close to the work.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Benefits Ownership (Core Focus)
- Own and manage benefits programs end-to-end, including:
- Broker and vendor relationships
- Open enrollment execution
- Ongoing administration and improvements
- Help evolve benefits offerings as the company brings more HR ownership in-house
Payroll Ownership
- Share responsibility for payroll execution, including:
- Processing payroll every other pay cycle
- Running off-cycle / one-off payrolls as needed
- Ensure accuracy across employee changes (new hires, terminations, leaves)
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to maintain smooth, compliant payroll operations
HR Operations & Compliance
- Administer and interpret HR policies in alignment with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Apply strong employment law knowledge in day-to-day decision-making
- Monitor legislative changes and proactively flag risks or needed updates
- Support audits, reporting, and operational improvements
Manager Partnership & Employee Support
- Maintain a regular cadence with managers to provide proactive HR support
- Coach managers on:
- Performance management
- Documentation and corrective action
- Compliance considerations (e.g., ADA, leave, employee risk areas)
- Support employee relations matters, with more complex issues handled by HR leadership
Training, Culture & Enablement
- Design and deliver training (e.g., manager fundamentals, feedback, compliance topics)
- Ensure managers feel confident handling people-related issues appropriately
- Champion company values through HR programs and day-to-day interactions
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead or contribute to HR initiatives (policy updates, process improvements, system enhancements)
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and the employee/manager experience

- Benefits programs are running smoothly and fully owned internally
- Payroll is accurate, timely, and low-friction
- Managers feel supported, informed, and proactive
- HR processes are more efficient, consistent, and scalable
- Compliance risks are identified early and handled appropriately

- Enjoys being a builder and operator, not just an advisor
- Is comfortable working closely with managers and coaching them proactively
- Prefers ownership and execution over high-level strategy
