What Your New Job Can Look Like

At Moodle, no two days are ever the same! As a Senior Financial Analyst, based in Barcelona, you'll collaborate closely with the Head of FP&A and other key teams to analyze and report financial and business performance. Your insights and recommendations will drive strategic decisions and business outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation of the company's annual and semi-annual budgets, providing detailed forecasts and conducting variance analysis to ensure alignment with our strategic objectives
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Own the preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports, ensuring clarity and actionable insights for managers and senior leadership. Identify key business drivers, forecast trends, and communicate performance against budget
  • Strategic Decision Support: Provide financial guidance to various departments, delivering in-depth analysis and recommendations to support decision-making across the organization
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with teams across Finance, Commercial and Product, to ensure financial alignment and provide recommendations that drive business outcomes
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis & Reporting: Prepare high-level, executive-ready reports and ad-hoc analysis on a wide variety of topics, including financial performance, cost optimization, and profitability improvement initiatives
  • Process Improvement: Lead efforts to streamline financial reporting and analysis processes, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and accuracy across the organization


Requirements

We'd love to meet you

We're looking for a skilled and experienced financial analyst who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. You should be able to work independently while collaborating with various teams to support business goals.

Especially if you can talk to us about your:

  • 6+ years of experience in FP&A or Corporate Finance. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with a strong understanding of financial modeling and data analysis
  • Strong analytical skills, able to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Clear communication skills, able to present financial data to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Proficiency in financial statement preparation and understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage deadlines, and collaborate with remote teams
  • Fluency in English
