The IB is currently seeking experienced individuals to take on the following roles:

  1. Deputy Examiner Responsible (DER)
  2. Assessment Content Developer (ACD)


Both positions are part-time, involves no relocation, and is usually undertaken in addition to existing work commitments.


Deputy Examiner Responsible (DER)


The duties of DER include the setting and marking of examinations and determining final grades of students.

You must:

  • have a degree or equivalent in the subject (or a related subject) for which you are applying,
  • have a minimum of one year’s experience teaching the subject (or a related subject) for which they are applying to students of:
  • 16 to 18 years of age (DP)
  • be native speaker/fluent in required language in order to write reports and mark students’ written and spoken responses.


We are currently recruiting DERs in the following subjects and languages:

  1. Tajik A literature- English and Tajik language
  2. Irish A literature- English and Irish (Gaeilge) language
  3. Welsh A literature- English and Welsh language


Assessment Content Developer (ACD)


Assessment content developers are involved in the creation and fine-tuning of assessments to ensure that they are fit for purpose.

You must:

  • have a degree or equivalent in the subject (or a related subject) for which you are applying,
  • have a minimum of two years’ experience teaching the subject (or a related subject) for which they are applying to students of 16 to 18 years of age (DP),
  • have a detailed, up-to-date knowledge of the subject for which they are applying,
  • be familiar with the principles and challenges of good assessment including the design of assessments,
  • demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm for the use of technology in assessment processes, including the use of eMarking tools and on-screen assessment,
  • demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to international education,
  • have the ability to communicate, read documents and write reports in required language.


We are currently recruiting DERs in the following subjects and languages:

  1. Hebrew B- English and Hebrew language
  2. English A literature- English language
  3. Arabic Ab Initio- English and Arabic language
