Role Description The Senior Educational Consultant is a part-time, remote role responsible for guiding students and families through the full lifecycle of the educational planning and admissions process. This role includes conducting comprehensive student assessments, developing individualized academic and application strategies, and advising on college options. The consultant will lead 1:1 virtual sessions, maintain ongoing communication with families, and manage caseloads to ensure timely completion of key milestones such as school lists, essays, and application materials. Responsibilities also include staying current on admissions trends and policies, collaborating with team members to refine best practices, and documenting client interactions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in Educational Consulting (part-time or full-time), with demonstrated experience supporting students through college admissions.
- Formal training and/or professional experience in Education, counseling, academic advising, or a related field.
- Consulting and advisory skills, including needs assessment, strategic planning, and solution-focused guidance for diverse student profiles.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to explain complex processes to families.
- Customer Service orientation, with a commitment to responsiveness, empathy, and building trust-based relationships with students and families.
- Familiarity with domestic (US-based) college admissions landscapes, standardized testing, and financial aid or scholarship opportunities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a remote environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in education, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Comfort with virtual collaboration tools and CRM or case-management systems used to track client progress.
