We are seeking a Senior Director, Strategy to serve as a senior strategic leader across a portfolio of key client accounts. This role bridges hands-on strategic leadership and executive oversight, bringing together brand strategy and engagement strategy to deliver cohesive, insight-driven solutions. The Senior Director will play a critical role in shaping integrated strategies, advancing the craft of strategy across the organization, and mentoring the next generation of strategic talent.

Working in close partnership with the VP, Strategy, this individual will help operationalize the department’s vision, ensuring that work is data-informed, channel-connected, and creatively inspiring, while driving measurable business impact.


Key Responsibilities

Integrated Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the development of integrated strategies that connect brand positioning to engagement ecosystems, ensuring clarity from foundational narrative through omnichannel activation.
  • Oversee creation of core strategic deliverables, including positioning frameworks, message architectures, communication strategies, and omnichannel roadmaps.
  • Translate research, analytics, and performance data into actionable insights that shape communications and engagement planning.
  • Partner closely with Creative, Media, Medical, Analytics, and Account leadership to ensure alignment and executional excellence.
  • Elevate the quality of strategic thinking across client portfolios by introducing new frameworks, tools, and best practices.

This role requires fluency across both long-term brand building and dynamic engagement strategy.

Client Leadership & Business Growth

  • Serve as senior strategic advisor across a portfolio of accounts.
  • Lead or co-lead brand planning sessions, workshops, and high-level strategic presentations.
  • Guide annual brand or business planning processes, synthesizing insights and aligning teams around measurable, integrated objectives.
  • Identify and drive organic growth opportunities by surfacing new ideas and anticipating evolving client needs.
  • Contribute meaningfully to new business pursuits, helping shape proposals and pitch narratives with integrated strategic thinking.

This individual must be confident leading senior-level client discussions and influencing decision-making.

Capability & Practice Development

  • Partner with senior strategy leadership to advance the department’s craft through improved frameworks, templates, and standardized methodologies.
  • Champion data literacy across teams, guiding application of segmentation, attitudinal and usage research (ATU), behavioral data, and digital performance metrics.
  • Model responsible and creative application of AI tools to enhance efficiency, insight generation, and strategic output.
  • Collaborate with leadership to pilot and refine new, productized strategic offerings and market-ready solutions.

This role will help shape the evolution of the strategy function.

Talent Development & Culture

  • Manage and mentor Directors and Senior Strategists across Brand and Engagement disciplines.
  • Foster hybrid fluency across the team, encouraging strategists to connect narrative thinking with channel and activation expertise.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback that elevates strategic rigor and storytelling quality.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning, collaboration, and shared best practice.
  • Model inclusive leadership behaviors and support initiatives that strengthen team culture and diversity of thought.

Thought Leadership & Cross-Agency Collaboration

  • Contribute to internal and external thought leadership, sharing practical frameworks, case examples, and forward-thinking insights.
  • Partner with senior leadership to enhance the visibility and influence of the Strategy function across the organization and with clients.
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration to ensure strategic thinking is embedded in all stages of work.


Ideal Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Deep experience across both brand strategy (positioning, narrative, messaging frameworks) and engagement strategy (channel orchestration, content planning, measurement).
  • Strong proficiency leveraging data and research to inform strategic decisions.
  • Intellectual curiosity around AI and emerging tools within marketing and communications.
  • Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, high-impact strategic work.
  • Strong mentorship capabilities and a track record of elevating others’ craft.
  • Excellent storytelling and facilitation skills, able to distill complexity into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Confidence leading senior client relationships and executive-level discussions.
