Here's a Summary Of Responsibilities

Reporting to the SVP, Chief of NGB Services & Sport Operations, the Senior Director, NGB Services is a strategic leader responsible for leading an in-house advisory team that aggregates and shares best practices and stimulates innovation focused on revenue growth and operational excellence across the National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement. This role oversees a cross-functional team that consults NGBs to optimize their partnership marketing, fundraising, events, and member growth and engagement capabilities by leveraging a network of thought leaders from both inside and outside the Olympic & Paralympic community. The Senior Director helps NGBs share best practices and develop capabilities to maximize current revenue opportunities, identify new ones, and leverage cost-saving shared services. The position also stewards flagship programs and events that foster collaboration and shared best practices among NGBs and the broader sports industry.

Here’s How You’ll Have An Impact

Strategic Partnership & Liaison

  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for NGB leadershipregarding revenue generation activities, providing consultative support and strategic guidance.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with NGB executives, staff, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of NGB needs with organizational strategy, resources, and priorities. Partner with internal teams to maximize cross-division/department coordination, specifically the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation (USOPF) and Strategy & Growth programs that support both NGB and USOPC revenue generation.

Revenue Optimization & Business Support

  • Partner with NGBs to enhance existing revenue streams across partnerships, fundraising, events, and membership programs.
  • In collaboration with USOPF team members, advise NGBs on major gift cultivation, donor stewardship, annual fund campaigns, sponsorship integration, and fundraising event strategies. Provide tools, resources, and connections to help NGBs expand their donor base and increase philanthropic supportfor their athletes and programs.
  • Aggregatebestpracticesand identify expertisetohelp NGBsdevelop, track,and sharecompelling membership value propositions, optimizedpricing structures, member engagement and retention strategies, and effective acquisition campaigns. Leverage data to identify membership trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with NGBs to develop new revenue-generating opportunities, leveraging cross-Movement expertise.
  • Consolidate value-in-kind (VIK) and shared service offerings to reduce NGB costs and increase operational efficiency.Develop models for shared service resourcesandhelp NGBsidentify strategic partners when appropriate.

Data, Analytics, & Reporting

  • Establish metrics and reporting systems to forecast, track, and communicate the impact of revenue efforts on NGB performance.
  • Translate data and insights into executive-levelcontent, including presentations, dashboards, and strategic recommendations.Incorporate relevant metrics into the organizational dashboard.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive benchmarks, and emerging opportunities relevant to NGB revenue growth.

Events, Programs, & Best Practices

  • Lead planning and execution of NGBevents (e.g., U.S. Olympic & ParalympicSportsLink, Best Practices)to promote collaboration, learning, and innovation.
  • OverseeNGBadministrative grant processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with organizational policiesand strategy.Partner across the Sport & Athlete Services division to facilitate grant processes as needed.
  • Curate and share best practices across NGBs to strengthen collective capabilities in marketing, fundraising, membership, and events.Leadongoingbest-practicesharingsessionsand strategy as needed.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Leadand manage ateam, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, and motivating to maximize collective performance. Contribute to an atmosphere for outstanding teamwork through clear expectations, frequent communication, and providing fair and consistent feedback. Manage the performance of team members effectively.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, in alignment with the USOPC mission and core values.
  • Developteam goalsin alignmentwith organizational strategy and NGB priorities.

Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sports management, marketing, or related field
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sports business, revenue generation, marketing, or partnership development, preferably with NGBs or similar organizations
  • Proven success in managing relationships with senior executives, sport administration leaders, and external partners
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong project management, analytical, and presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively engage with leaders at all levels across organizations to drive alignment and action
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement and its unique dynamics
  • Strong knowledge of the broader sports industry, including sponsorship, marketing, and fan engagement trends
  • Demonstrated understanding of NGB business models, revenue drivers, and operational priorities
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Ability to make clear, well-informed recommendations based on data and understanding of organizational goals
  • Skill in creating high-impact, concise, and visually compelling executive-level materials for internal and external partners

Here's Some More Information You Need To Know

  • Hiring pay range $124,086 - $157,589 per year
  • This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
  • Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 20% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
