Key Responsibilities:
1. Regional Logistics Leadership & Strategy
- Own logistics strategy for Sweden, Nordics, and Northern Europe, aligned to global supply chain standards.
- Translate global logistics strategy into a regional operating model supporting chemical manufacturing and export growth.
- Act as senior logistics counterpart to site directors, EHS leaders, procurement, and commercial teams.
- Lead annual planning for freight spend, service levels, risk, and capacity.
2. Network Design & Distribution Excellence
Core Regional Footprint
- Manufacturing-adjacent logistics hubs (Sweden)
- Palletised and bulk chemicals
- Hazardous and temperature-controlled materials
- Port-centric export flows via Gothenburg
- Containerised chemicals, ISO tanks, sea freight
- Nordic & Northern European DC network
- Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, Benelux
Responsibilities
- Optimise road, rail, and sea flows with a strong focus on DG constraints, cost-to-serve, and customer SLAs.
- Lead network modelling (hub location, consolidation, buffer strategies, near-port warehousing).
- Partner with Procurement on carrier strategy (FTL/LTL, parcel, bulk, rail, ISO tanks).
- Standardise packaging, labelling, segregation, and storage for regulated chemical products.
3. 3PL, Carrier & Warehouse Governance
- Own governance of regional 3PLs, warehousing partners, and transport providers.
- Establish consistent KPIs, scorecards, QBRs, and audit programmes.
- Lead regional freight tenders and contract negotiations.
- Ensure strong performance across DG-certified carriers and chemical warehousing partners.
4. Digitalisation, Visibility & Performance
- Lead regional adoption of TMS integrated with SAP S/4HANA.
- Deliver end-to-end shipment visibility for export and intra-European flows.
- Build dashboards covering OTIF, freight cost, warehouse utilisation, CO₂ emissions, and compliance.
- Embed data-driven decision-making across logistics and site teams.
5. Compliance, Risk & Sustainability
- Ensure full compliance with ADR, IMDG, IATA DGR, REACH, CLP, and GHS.
- Act as senior escalation point for DG incidents, audits, and corrective actions.
- Drive sustainability initiatives:
- Road-to-rail modal shift
- Port-centric consolidation
- Load optimisation and packaging reduction
- CO₂ reporting and reduction targets
- Partner closely with EHS and ESG teams.
