About the Role: The Senior Data Scientist will lead high-impact data projects from identification to delivery, collaborating with stakeholders to maximize the reach and adoption of analytical insights. This role is key in translating complex data into clear, actionable business implications for audiences ranging from technical teams to executives. The position contributes by developing measurement frameworks, improving decision-making infrastructure, and mentoring other analysts to enhance scientific rigor across the program.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, scope, and deliver end-to-end high-impact projects using appropriate resources
- Collaborate proactively with stakeholders to increase the impact and adoption of insights
- Communicate findings and business implications clearly to varied audiences
- Develop intuitive frameworks and measurement approaches for complex data questions
- Apply rigorous analytical and causal inference methods balancing rigor and practical constraints
- Own and enhance shared decision-making programs such as experimentation and impact measurement
- Design, build, and maintain shared data science tools and reusable assets
- Mentor scientists and analysts and lead training to improve scientific decision-making across the organization
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional experience in economics, analytics, or data science (e.g., tech, consulting, government)
- Proficiency with empirical econometrics methods including experimentation and causal inference
- Strong SQL skills
- Proficiency in R or Python with strong data visualization capabilities
- Excellent communication skills to simplify complex methods and tailor messaging for different audiences
- Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships, including with senior leadership
- Skilled in data wrangling, organizing data for analysis, and project management
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range is $197,200 - $255,200
- For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range is $177,700 - $229,900
- For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range is $167,500 - $216,700
- Actual offered salaries will vary based on job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency
