About the Opportunity
We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on data engineering professional with strong expertise in Databricks, Microsoft Azure, and modern cloud-based data platforms.
The ideal candidate is an end-to-end data engineer with experience designing, building, and optimizing scalable data solutions. They should also have a solid understanding of solution architecture and experience working across multi-cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms using Databricks and Azure technologies.
- Build end-to-end data engineering solutions, from data ingestion and transformation to analytics-ready datasets.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.
- Contribute to solution architecture and cloud design discussions.
- Develop and support enterprise-grade data platforms across multi-cloud environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability.
- Ensure data solutions meet security, governance, and scalability requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Senior-level experience as a Data Engineer.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with Databricks.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Solid understanding of data architecture and solution design.
- Experience building end-to-end data engineering solutions.
- Hands-on experience working in multi-cloud environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and modern data engineering tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, or similar Azure data services.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with modern data lakehouse architectures.
