About the CompanyURS Capital Partners is a vertically integrated multifamily investment platform with over 16 years of operating history and a growing national portfolio. Through our in‑house property management division, URS Properties, we control the full investment lifecycle from acquisition through operations, financing, and disposition. As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a Senior Controller to serve as the financial backbone of the platform.
The RoleThe Senior Controller is responsible for all property‑level and corporate accounting, financial reporting, lender compliance, and cash management across URS Capital Partners and URS Properties.
This role is the financial backbone of the operating platform, ensuring accurate financials, tight internal controls, and full compliance with lender requirements. The Senior Controller leads the accounting team, partners closely with property management, and serves as the primary accounting contact for lenders, auditors, and ownership.
This is a hands‑on leadership role with significant autonomy in a growing, entrepreneurial organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all property and corporate accounting across the platform
- Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
- Review financial statements, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and payables
- Manage and develop property accountants, junior controller(s), and AP / AR staff
- Serve as the primary liaison between property accounting and property management
- Own lender reporting and compliance, including:
- Monthly and quarterly lender packages
- Covenant tracking and compliance
- Construction and CapEx loan draws
- Escrow and reserve management (taxes, insurance, replacements, CapEx)
- Oversee treasury functions, cash management, and bank reconciliations
- Support refinancing events, audits, and lender reviews
- Ensure accurate tenant billing, CAM / tax reconciliations, and management fee calculations
- Oversee new property onboarding, purchase accounting, and systems integration
- Act as system owner for Yardi Voyager (or similar)
- Prepare 1099s, support personal property tax filings, and respond to ownership and audit requests
- Continuously improve accounting processes, controls, and scalability
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience with multifamily property and corporate accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting
- Direct experience with lender reporting, loan draws, and escrow management
- Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams
- High proficiency in Excel; Yardi Voyager experience strongly preferred
- Ability to Travel to New York and Southeast
- Detail‑oriented, analytical, and highly organized

This role ensures that property operations, corporate accounting, cash flow, and lender compliance stay perfectly aligned. The Senior Controller plays a critical role in protecting capital, maintaining lender trust, and enabling the platform to scale responsibly.
