Responsible for activities related to outsourced nutraceutical manufacturing, supporting approximately $20 million in annual Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) spend.
This role partners cross-functionally with Planning, Production, Quality Assurance (QA), and Supplier Management to ensure reliable supply, regulatory compliance, cost competitiveness, and strong supplier performance.
The ideal candidate has a fundamental understanding of Contract Manufacturing process as it relates to tablets, softgels, and finished nutraceutical products. As well as a strong understanding of cGMP environments, supplier qualification, and production planning.

Responsibilities
Procurement & Buying
- Manage day-to-day, time sensitive activities for outsourced finished goods, including tablets, softgels, and related nutraceutical products.
- Issue and manage purchase orders in alignment with demand plans, production schedules, and inventory targets.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods while balancing cost, quality, and service.
- Support management of a $20M CMO portfolio, working closely with the Manager, Contract Manufacturing on sourcing strategy and supplier performance.
- Coordinate with CMOs to align capacity, lead times, forecasts, and production plans.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics including OTIF, quality, responsiveness, and cost adherence.
- Support supplier qualification, onboarding, and periodic reviews in collaboration with QA.
- Partner with Planning to translate forecasts into executable purchase plans provide manufacturing execution updates and problem resolutions
- Work with Production and Operations to resolve supply constraints, expedite orders, and manage changes.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance by collecting, organizing, and tracking required documentation to facilitate supplier compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements. Participate in cross-functional meetings to support product launches, line extensions, and formulation changes.
- Escalate delays, gaps, or execution issues to the manager as soon as identified.
- Assist with supplier selection, RFQs/RFPs, cost modeling, and negotiations.
- Identify cost-reduction, value-engineering, and risk-mitigation opportunities.
- Support contract development, pricing agreements, and change management initiatives.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, and contract documentation.
- Support audits (internal, customer, regulatory) as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field.
- 5+ years of procurement or manufacturing experience, preferably in nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, food, or CPG.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers (CMOs/CDMOs).
- Familiarity with tablets, softgels, and finished nutraceutical dosage forms.
- Strong understanding of cGMP environments and quality requirements.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience managing $10M+ annual spend.
- Exposure to supplier audits, qualification, or quality agreements.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (FDA, cGMP, NSF, USP).
- APICS, CPSM, or similar certification.
- Strong ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to execute time sensitive tasks
- Analytical and detail-oriented with solid problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communicator across technical and non-technical teams
- Results-driven with continuous improvement mindset
