Enlight Renewable Energy is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager – Renewable Energy Origination (IPP) to lead the origination, structuring, and closing of renewable energy project acquisitions across Europe.

This is a senior, front-line origination and execution role with full ownership of deals from first market entry through closing and handover. The role is accountable for sourcing and closing MW-scale projects across PV, BESS, and wind, with the ambition to expand into additional technologies such as Data Centers and Power-to-X.

The position is Europe-based with flexibility, and requires extensive travel across Central, Northern, and Eastern Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively originate off-market and proprietary renewable energy opportunities across Central, Northern, and Eastern Europe
  • Build and maintain strong local origination pipelines with developers, landowners, brokers, utilities, and other partners
  • Lead market entry efforts and establish long-term origination channels in new geographies
  • Continuously screen opportunities across early-stage to RTB assets
  • Own full commercial evaluation and transaction strategy for each opportunity, with a clear IPP ownership mindset
  • Lead valuation, risk assessment, and investment logic
  • Prepare and submit Non-Binding Offers (NBOs) and term sheets in competitive processes
  • Drive deal execution with urgency, discipline, and accountability
  • Lead end-to-end due diligence processes (technical, legal, commercial, permitting, grid, and financial), leveraging in-house teams and external advisors
  • Challenge assumptions, identify execution risks, and safeguard long-term portfolio value
  • Manage and push external advisors to timelines aligned with deal velocity
  • Lead negotiations of SPA, DSA, joint venture, and development partnership agreements
  • Take full commercial ownership of contractual terms
  • Drive transactions to signing and closing under tight timelines
  • Ensure a clean and effective handover to development, construction, and asset management teams

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in renewable energy origination, acquisitions, or development within an IPP or leading market player
  • Proven track record of closed transactions (not only sourced) in PV, BESS, and/or wind
  • Hands-on experience leading NBOs, due diligence processes, and SPA/DSA negotiations
  • Strong understanding of European permitting regimes, grid connection processes, and development risks
  • Direct market experience across Central, Northern, and Eastern Europe
  • Strong commercial mindset combined with technical credibility
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple transactions in parallel
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages are a strong advantage
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Europe
