Aderis is building the next generation of enterprise software: an AI Native Finance ERP system designed from the ground up to leverage the power of artificial intelligence. We're not retrofitting AI into legacy systems—we're reimagining what enterprise software can be when AI is at its core.
We're already live with our first customers and preparing for our official launch in May 2026. Based near Zurich, Switzerland, we prefer hybrid work but are open to fully remote arrangements for the right candidate. The Role
As a Senior AI Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing the AI systems that power Aderis. You'll work across the full AI stack—from prompt engineering and RAG pipelines to fine-tuning small language models and orchestrating multi-agent systems. This role requires both deep technical expertise and the ability to make pragmatic decisions in a fast-paced startup environment.
What You'll Do
- Design and build multi-agent systems with robust orchestration patterns
- Implement tool calling, agent memory, guardrails, and failure recovery strategies
- Build and optimize RAG pipelines with vector databases and semantic search
- Fine-tune small language models for domain-specific tasks
- Develop document processing pipelines (PDF extraction, OCR, NER, classification)
- Work with our Finance specialists on optimising prompts and creating the best results for our customers
- Own the full lifecycle from experimentation to production deployment
What We're Looking For
Core Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years focused on AI/ML
- Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node.js
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, Mistral, Google Vertex AI)
- Experience building production AI systems with proper guardrails and error handling
- Solid understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, and semantic search
Technical Skills We Value
- Multi-Agent Systems: Agent orchestration, tool/function calling, memory management, output validation
- LLM & RAG: Vector databases, embedding models, caching, rate limiting, cost optimization
- Fine-Tuning: Parameter-efficient methods (LoRA, QLoRA), training data pipelines, model evaluation
- Document Processing: PDF extraction, OCR, table parsing, entity extraction, document routing
- ML Tooling: PyTorch, HuggingFace ecosystem, experiment tracking
- Infrastructure: Cloud platforms (GCP or AWS), Docker, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code
Nice to Have
- Experience with Pydantic (models, validators, schema generation)
- FastAPI or Nest.js experience
- Kaggle competitions or published ML research
- GCP or AWS experience
- Background in ERP systems or enterprise software
