The role
We’re now hiring a Security & Data Engineering Lead who can own our data security and build the foundations of our data infrastructure. This is a hands-on role: you’ll design the patterns and implement them. We’re not looking for someone who needs to learn how to do this. We’re looking for someone who can show us the right way forward.
What you will do
- Own security across our backend, infra, APIs, and data flows
- Design secure patterns for IAM, secrets, networks, access control
- Build and maintain our data models, schemas, and event tracking
- Analyse product and operational data to ensure correctness and identify insights
- Improve auditability, logging, lineage, and data quality
- Build queries, dashboards, and internal tools to help product and engineering make decisions
- Work hands-on across backend, infra, and data
- Support compliance frameworks such as SOC2/ISO27001 through strong technical controls
What you bring
Strong engineering background (backend, security, or data) with a focus on hands-on implementation.
- Proven experience building secure cloud infrastructure, IAM, and CI/CD controls
- Experience designing and maintaining data models, tables, and event schemas
- Ability to build, document, teach, and ensure security and data standards in the team
- A structured approach and the ability to take full ownership in an early-stage environment
- Comfortable balancing speed with a high bar for quality and security
- Experience in telecom, fintech, or other regulated/high-data-sensitivity environments
- SOC2/ISO27001 implementation experience
- GCP experience (our current stack)
- Experience designing data models and writing advanced SQL
- Ability to analyse data, validate it, and extract insights
- Experience with modern data stacks (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, or similar)
