Sales Manager – C&I BESS (Benelux, Netherlands-Based)

With a strong focus on accelerating the energy transition, the company develops, invests in, and deploys battery energy storage systems (BESS) to support grid stability, renewable integration, and energy market optimisation.
Backed by experienced leadership and strategic capital, the organisation is rapidly expanding its footprint across Europe, with the Benelux region identified as a key growth market. They are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with the addition of a Sales Manager to drive BESS project origination and partnerships across the region.
Role Overview
The Sales Manager – C&I BESS will be responsible for leading commercial activities across the Benelux region, with a strong focus on the Netherlands market. This role will centre on developing and managing relationships with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), developers, and key stakeholders, while identifying and securing new business opportunities in the rapidly evolving energy storage sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development
- Identify, originate, and secure new C&I BESS opportunities across the Benelux region
- Build and execute a strong regional sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives
2. Client & Partnership Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with IPPs, renewable energy developers, and strategic partners
- Act as the primary commercial interface for key clients across the region
3. Market Intelligence
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity within Benelux energy storage markets
- Provide strategic insights to guide commercial positioning and project development
4. Deal Structuring & Negotiation
- Lead commercial negotiations for BESS projects, including partnership structures and contractual agreements
- Support project structuring alongside technical, financial, and legal teams
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal development, engineering, and investment teams to progress projects from early-stage origination through to execution
- Ensure alignment between commercial strategy and project delivery
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in C&I BESS sales or business development
- Strong existing network with IPPs, developers, and key energy stakeholders in the Benelux region
- Deep understanding of energy storage markets, grid services, and project development cycles
- Fluency in Dutch (essential) and strong English communication skills
- Based in the Netherlands
- Willing to travel across the Benelux region
