About the Role
At Pattern Brands, we live to curate products that turn everyday routines into joyful rituals. We’re a fast-growing portfolio of home brands, and we’re looking for a Sales Manager who is ready to own our wholesale and mass-market sales function from end-to-end.
This is a one-person sales team. You will be the one building and managing our key retail and TV shopping relationships, setting up and working trade shows, and handling the day-to-day blocking and tackling that keeps accounts running. You’ll work cross-functionally with Merchandising and Operations, but you own the sales function.
If you need a team around you to do the doing, this isn’t the right fit. If you thrive on being the person who owns outcomes, focuses on impact, and gets things done, you might be the person we’re looking for.
Limited travel is required, including being on-site at IHA (the International Housewares Association trade show) once per year, from setup through teardown.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage our TV shopping relationships (primarily Good Morning America), including full setup and execution of flash deal segments from pitch through post-show reporting.
- Manage all Faire accounts - maintaining relationships, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth order execution.
- Own the sales rep relationship for mass market opportunities, including ongoing communication, account development, and performance tracking.
- Actively own the IHA trade show (Chicago, each March) from start to finish - pre-show planning, full on-site setup, staffing the floor, and post-show follow-up. You will be physically on the ground at the show each year.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of new wholesale accounts across channels.
- Negotiate terms with accounts and rep groups - look for new rep groups to work with for categories of Cruise & Hospitality; analyze and report on account performance weekly.
- Create line sheets and sales materials; coordinate cross-functionally with Merchandising and Operations to ensure account needs are met.
- Travel as needed for the business; limited but expected when it matters.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of wholesale or mass market sales experience; consumer goods or home category experience is a strong plus.
- Comfortable being a one-person team. You don’t need people around you to stay motivated or get things done. You’re the kind of person who figures it out and follows through.
- No ego about doing the work yourself. Strategy matters, but so does execution - you need to be good at both and willing to do both.
- Strong working knowledge of retail math, account management, and basic supply chain.
- Proficient in Excel; organized and detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication.
- Able and willing to travel as needed, including attending and setting up the IHA trade show annually.
- US-based, fully remote. East Coast location or EST hours preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States. Pattern is unable to hire employees based outside the US or those who require sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
- The base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $120,000 USD, depending on the candidate's level, experience, and qualifications. This role is also eligible for incentive compensation based on the achievement of target performance metrics.
- Other benefits include company-sponsored health insurance, company-paid dental insurance, a generous PTO policy (20 days of vacation, 5 days of sick leave, plus company-paid holidays), and a company-sponsored 401(k) plan. We also provide an employee discount on products from Pattern's portfolio of brands.
