Job Overview:

The Sales Manager for Houston and surrounding areas will lead a regional team, building and maintaining relationships, and driving growth by expanding the customer base through dealers and distributors and conversions. This role requires strong business and financial acumen and demonstrated experience negotiating deals, running economic models and developing proposals within financial metrics and targets.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 8 years of sales experience, with at least 4+ years in the petroleum industry (Branded or Wholesale)
  • Experience creating economic/sales modeling forecasts of customer anticipated volume/margin utilizing (Volume, Leverage, Coverage, EBITDA, IRR, and Client).
  • Experience creating and presenting proposal offers for prospective accounts.
  • Experience establishing relationships with new business opportunities in existing and target growth markets.
  • Experience utilizing technology platforms: Salesforce, Right Angle, Concur, etc.
  • Experience preparing annual budget and growth requirements for assigned territory and reporting sales activity, and key performance metrics frequently.
  • Ability to travel regionally (Houston and surrounding areas) 50%+
  • Preferred - Industry Knowledge, established book of business based in Houston, Texas


Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for driving regional (Houston and surrounding areas) strategy by leveraging supply advantages to grow the customer base and EBITDA, identifying new market opportunities, and leading the regional team.

  • Understands prospect needs and offers tailored, value-driven solutions to meet sales and financial goals.
  • Guides the team to develop proposals that align with company economic targets.
  • Builds relationships in existing and emerging markets to generate new business.
  • Prepares annual budgets and growth targets for the region.
  • Applies strategic thinking to overcome objections and close deals.
  • Attends industry events to source leads, build pipelines, and stay current on market trends.
  • Manages the credit process by collecting customer financials and submitting through Salesforce.
  • Develops initial economic models based on contract metrics (EBITDA, IRR, Client, Volume, Leverage, Coverage).
  • Ensures offers are competitive and consistent with the market to protect existing relationships.
  • Delivers professional proposals and works cross-functionally to finalize contracts.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor, bringing deep industry and market insight to every engagement.
