EMEA Sales Director
Remote - Ideally based in Germany
Are you a resilient sales leader driven to conquer competitive markets?
We are seeking a strategic and tenacious European Sales Director to lead our sales strategy and execution across the region. This is a pivotal role for a proven B2B leader who thrives on challenge, excels at extracting maximum value, and is motivated by ambitious growth targets.
You will take ownership of a €30 million revenue portfolio, with a clear mandate to deliver 5-10% annual growth. Leading a team of 9 sales professionals across multiple countries, and managing and building a network of distributors.
Your Mission:
- Drive Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive European B2B sales strategy. Identify and capture new market opportunities, acquire clients in target sectors, and achieve defined revenue, forecast, and market share goals.
- Lead & Inspire: Motivate, coach, and manage a geographically dispersed external sales team. Foster a high-performance, resilient, and culturally adept sales culture. Establish clear KPIs and drive accountability.
- Maximize Value: Implement value-based selling and strategic pricing models. Negotiate key contracts and develop tailored client solutions to ensure profitable growth in every opportunity.
- Optimize Partnerships: Oversee and manage distributor relationships, conducting regular performance reviews to ensure alignment and optimal value extraction.
- Outmanoeuvre Competitors: Conduct competitive and market analysis. Use strategic insights and customer relationships to succeed in markets where we are not the dominant player.
- Collaborate for Success: Work closely with production, marketing, and product development teams. Provide regular, insightful reporting to senior leadership on performance and trends.
What You Bring:
- Proven Track Record: Extensive experience in B2B sales and building a distributor network from the ground up.
- Ideally your experience will be within industrial or technical sectors (e.g., hydraulics, capital equipment, engineered products, aerospace, oil & gas, energy).
- Leadership Expertise: Demonstrated success in leading geographically dispersed sales teams and managing complex distributor networks.
- Commercial Acumen: A strong history of hitting revenue targets, negotiating major contracts, and growing market share in competitive environments.
- Strategic Mindset: The ability to develop long-term strategy while executing on short-term priorities. Strong technical aptitude to understand and communicate complex solutions.
- Key Attributes: A true "fighter's mentality" – resilient, results-driven, and relentless. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent expertise gained through experience and training.
Performance Metrics: Your success will be measured on revenue/profitability growth, new customer acquisition, sales pipeline health, distributor performance, and team engagement.
