Position: Ruby on Rails Developer
Type: Part Time (Contract)
Compensation: $30 - $60/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails framework
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable features and enhancements
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical planning
- Communicate project progress and challenges clearly with team members and stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience developing with Ruby on Rails
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services integration
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and responsive design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adhere to deadlines in a remote setting
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Familiarity with cloud platforms or DevOps practices
- Previous experience collaborating with distributed teams
