Role description
This is a full‑time, remote position for a Resource Mobilisation Officer (Donor Relations and Membership). The Officer will lead the development and implementation of ICRI Global’s resource mobilisation efforts, including identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, managing grant and partnership pipelines, and cultivating strategic relationships with donors and allies. The role will also coordinate fundraising and membership campaigns, ensure high‑quality financial and narrative reporting, and work closely with the Founder and wider team to align all resource mobilisation activities with ICRI Global’s mission and values.
Preference will be given to candidates who are nationals or residents of an EU Member State, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, due to administrative and time‑zone considerations.
Key duties and responsibilities
Strategy and planning
Contribute to the development and implementation of ICRI Global’s resource mobilisation strategy and annual work plan.
Maintain an updated overview of funding prospects (institutional donors, foundations, philanthropic funds, private sector, and individual giving).
Donor intelligence, outreach and partnership building
Identify and research potential donors and partners whose priorities align with ICRI Global’s mission and programmes.
Initiate and support outreach to donors (briefing notes, concept notes, presentations, meeting preparation and follow‑up).
Cultivate and maintain strong, professional relationships with institutional and individual donors, ensuring regular communication and stewardship.
Proposal development and grant management
Coordinate and support the full proposal cycle: concept development, drafting, budgeting inputs, internal consultations, quality assurance and timely submission.
Ensure that proposals and reports reflect ICRI’s community‑led approach, ethics on knowledge governance, and agreed results frameworks.
Maintain a grants and opportunities pipeline, tracking deadlines, requirements, and decision timelines.
Fundraising and membership campaigns
Design and implement online and offline fundraising campaigns (including LinkedIn, email, events or webinars) in coordination with communications.
Support the design, launch and growth of ICRI Global’s membership offer, including outreach, onboarding, and member engagement activities.
Reporting, accountability and learning
Coordinate timely, high‑quality narrative and financial reports to donors, working closely with finance and programme colleagues.
Maintain accurate records of donor requirements, contributions, and correspondence (contact database/CRM).
Track agreed indicators for fundraising and membership, document lessons learned, and recommend adjustments to the resource mobilisation strategy.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in resource mobilisation, fundraising, donor relations, or grant management in the nonprofit, international development, or philanthropic sectors.
Demonstrated experience in drafting successful funding proposals and managing donor reporting (narrative and financial).
Substantial experience in financial reporting, basic budgeting, and grants or project cycle management.
Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to map funding landscapes and identify suitable opportunities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong attention to detail; additional languages (e.g. French, Italian, German, or languages from the Global South) are an asset.
Experience in building and maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders (communities, NGOs, academic institutions, international agencies, and/or private sector allies).
Proficiency with digital collaboration tools and familiarity with CRM or fundraising platforms.
A demonstrated commitment to climate action, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, community empowerment, and sustainable development.
Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, International Development, Business Administration, Environmental Studies or a related field; a relevant master’s degree is an advantage.
Nationality or legal residence in an EU Member State, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland strongly preferred.
