You’ll take ownership of large-scale quantitative studies across our portfolio, helping us to deeply understand our users’ behaviours and needs. At the same time, you’ll play a key role in mentoring product designers and cross-functional teams in qualitative methods such as usability testing, interviews, and co-design.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading quantitative research: Design and run large-scale surveys, usage analytics, and experimental tests to generate actionable insights
- Mentoring on qualitative research: Support and coach product designers in methods like usability testing, interviews, and diary studies
- Embedding research into product teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure research is considered throughout the design and delivery process
- Synthesising insights: Turn complex data sets (both qual and quant) into clear, compelling findings that inform design and business decisions
- Democratising research: Help others understand and apply research through templates, training, and collaborative practices
- Planning strategically: Scope and prioritise research efforts to align with product roadmaps and business needs
- Promoting evidence-based design: Encourage a culture of informed decision-making through storytelling, workshops, and regular research sharing
- Cross functional collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Analysts to spot opportunities and define customer-centric solutions
- Improving research practices: Continuously review and refine our research approach, tools, and repository
- Mixed methods research skills: Solid experience in both qualitative and quantitative research techniques
- Qualitative depth: Confident running interviews, usability testing, and workshops, with examples of translating findings into action
- Cross functional communication: Able to present insights in a structured and engaging way to different audiences
- Coaching mindset: Comfortable mentoring others and improving their research skills
- Product experience: Used to working with Agile teams, contributing at every stage of the product lifecycle
- Customer empathy: A strong belief in putting users first, and experience advocating for their needs
- Education or equivalent experience: A degree or equivalent experience in Psychology, HCI, Sociology, or a related field for example statistics, maths, science
- Quantitative fluency: Able to plan, run, and analyse large-scale studies using tools like Qualtrics, or SurveyMonkey; familiarity with tools like Dovetail, R, Python is desirable but not required
- Sector knowledge: Experience in Education is a bonus but not required
